Our Community has made it clear that they want to feel safe at IMVU. Users can block, flag, and boot other users. The IMVU team reviews millions of messages, chats, images, and products every year.

We also have various filters that proactively block or limit certain words and behaviors from being displayed in Chat or Messages. The latest of these innovative tools uses machine learning to detect some of the most negative behaviors and blocks the delivery of those. In this example, the sender sees the message they attempted to send is italicized and has an opaque background (the text is blurred here because it’s a nasty message!). You can tap or click on the exclamation point for more information.

The text reads: Your message was not delivered due to a possible Community Guidelines violation.

Note that we may not get it right 100% of the time. This is why we say “possible” Community Guidelines violation. If you feel that your message shouldn’t have been blocked, feel free to try re-phrasing it. Simply re-typing the same message will not be successful.

If your message triggered this automated response, please take some time to review our Community Guidelines. Some of the behaviors that might trigger this type of failure of delivery include hate speech, highly sexual conversations in GA spaces, and other toxic and abusive behavior.
