Skin Layer Penetrates Face Mask Layer causing “Cracks” when using IMVU Desktop 13.1.43
I'm seeing this issue on various heads that I have derived over the last year. The issue affected the heads so much that I did not want to make the heads visible for sale and they remain hidden. I'd also like to think that it's my own fault and there is a quick fix because it's something that I'm not doing correctly; but now I've started to see others experience the same issue and it probably needs to be addressed by the IMVU team, hence this post.
Steps to reproduce
access to 2 separate accounts as the “User” is unable to see the defect for themselves
both accounts use IMVU Desktop
at least one head that uses a “Diffuse Texture” and an opacity using “Composite Blend”.
Actual Results
The attached image shows a picture of my derived Alice Head (PID 63828387) and was taken by the ’Second Account’. It shows the skin layer penetrating the face mask layer resulting in what appears to be “cracking”.
Additional Information
I use Apple Macintosh but I am aware that this also happens for users who are solely PC users.
The example above highlights one issue (with the eyes), but the “cracking” also occurs in other parts of the face depending on the gesture being performing. The cracking also penetrates additional masks that have been custom-made specifically for that head. For example ‘eye shadow’ or ‘lipstick’ layers that a user may want to wear in order to subtly change the cosmetic appearance.
Let me know if you need further information.

Hi @BishopCleric, Sorry, this slipped through the cracks. I looked into this today and was able to reproduce the issue and have written up a bug ticket on it. I will follow up here when I have more info.

This has been happening to me too, on more than just skins/heads. Base avatar bits are seen in pants, booty areas, and are popping through where they have not before. I’m not sure if some of the ava mesh weights got altered or not.

I confirm this major bug, it should be escalated to the staff.
