there is a huge strange bug in imvu studio @Saturi

I derived nails https://fr.imvu.com/shop/product.php?products_id=65183684 from my derivable https://fr.imvu.com/shop/product.php?products_id=62793643

because everything is already done (opacities of the nails rings etc, to avoid having to redo everything from the original mesh)

this does not break the derivation chain since my derivable comes from the same mesher

it should follow this derivation tree way as usual :

new nails derived from :

_(my derivable nails) derived from :

-the original mesher

but titdirectly makes new nails derived from original mesher and does not follow the derivation tree correctly

on the internet page of my product, I see that my nails appear derived directly from the product ID of the original mesher even though it is impossible they were directly derived

I was on my derivable in the studio since I only had to change the color of the nails and rings that I had already done and that all my textures appeared.

for me this does not cause me any problem, but imagine that someone wants to derive my nails with my opacities and textures rings

and ends up with the same bug, namely that it completely changes the derivation tree and that it appears as derived from the original mesh and not from mine. this will be considered theft even though the person has done nothing wrong but just wanted to derive my product

I have derived several times in the previous months these same nails from my derivable in the studio and other people have also derived from mine and there was not this bug in the derivation tree it was well derived of my product

I think that this bug must be dealt with as quickly as possible because it can multiply cases of texture theft which in the end will not even be voluntary theft but a conflict bug from the studio when they try to derive a derivable

Thanks in advance for your help and investigations

I ask this because the link that you posted is set to not derivable, but maybe you have changed this later.

If you want to prevent texture theft, the best thing to do is not to set a textured product as derivable, but instead use a new submission with numbers or texture maps. That way your textures can't be used, and it eliminates no change derivations by lazy devs.

@SonnyDesigns Is it posible thay you have accidently opened (edit) your mesh file (not derive from the product id) and "submit as new"?

Hi @SonnyDesigns, Not sure how this might of happened. Both PIDs (65183684 and 62793643) appear to be derived from 44447202. This is the first time we have heard of any issues with deriving like this in Studio. Have you noticed this with any other products?
