The part of the laser beam that is supposed to be transparent shows up white in the Classic Client. I've tried a jpg texture first with a gray scale mask and then a BMP file with transparent spaces between the beams of laser light (colored part). The uncolored part shows white. Any Ideas what I'm doing wrong?

TIA

Alpha Test at .5 is an issue. I wish default was at .6

Results of test:

1) set alpha test to .55

2) turned off double sided

This cleared the problem!

Thanks everyone!

Thanks, the map was created directly from the “beam” image so it should match perfectly.

Hey @xAidenSteelx Also (adding to what Tina says) check this out.

The majority of the Black Areas of the Opacity Map should be completely BLACK for this test. The very edges between the Black and White areas shouldn't matter much.

Then try the Alpha Test setting to see if you get an effect you like. It is more compatible with the Classic. Set the "Threshold" above .5 (default). We cannot give exact Settings here in public but try many numbers above .55 but not too high :)

If the Alpha Test does not give the effect you want, try many different shades of Gray to Black in your Opacity Map.

There is more on Opacity in the Studio FAQs here: https://cc.imvu.com/s/article/IMVU-Studio-FAQs

Great input here from everyone! I hope something helps...

Sometimes, if the file dimensions (64x64, 128x128) and so on do not match it can cause issue rendering in classic mode.

Hi @BayouSteve The product is not showing the catalog. I would try Different Opacity Maps. Try .png format and test with the Alpha Blending, etc. Play around with the settings if you must use the Composite Blending. The Advanced controls may help. It would help here with a snapshot or two and unhide the product?
