I used to love those rooms you got to choose when registering your account; I always went with the vampire/dungeon themed one as I've always been fascinated by the supernatural! The spiky hair!!!!

I don't know if it's still available; however, I remember there was a section where we could have written about our character or whatever. I started on it years ago on IMVU, but it seems that IMVU moved it or taken it down.

Hi Folks,

This is an important update for Grandfathered Creators.

On May 18th we stated that starting July 1, 2023, all Earn Money Creators, including Grandfathered Creators, will be required to have either Platinum or Diamond VIP in order to be in the Earn Money Program and receive cash payouts. 

(This requirement does not affect Grandfathered Creators who are subscribed to legacy VIP (from before Tiered VIP launched).

We realize this is a huge change for many Grandfathered Creators and have been closely following feedback regarding this new policy.

Based on your valuable input, we have come up with a solution that should make it easier for affected Creators to transition.

I also miss the old forums (before Discussions). The layout was better and we were allowed the ability to advertise our catalogs via our banners with each and every post we made. IMVU took away a lot of ways for creators to advertise. They also took away our ability to brand our products with our icons and showcase them in the best possible manner with the introduction of the Next catalog and the generic icons. The Next catalog is truly not appealing at all. I'd rather shop the old catalog. It used to be said that the first thing that would make a customer click on your product to take a look-see was the catalog icon. There's nothing appealing about the Next catalog icons that would make me want to click to check out any products.

I was afraid to connect with people at first but now I chat with them at least one time.

There are not that many role-play families now that the group page is gone

• When, What Happened?

Well, imvu added IMVU next which I hate because the bots are out of control. My roleplay group broke apart because of real-life drama. The biggest issue was a now popular dev messing around with people in real life and not minding her own business. She also faked being sick to get out of arguments, a major control freak. At the time I had a lot going on and she try to demand I get online. She used my rp sissy to start some mess. Also at that time, I had just started developing and a few of my rooms were making sales.  Come to find out she had been developing but her rooms were okay but not great. You know the one with the same image all over the place. Well, she asked me how I did a few things and I told her.  I was in a class on graphic design. Gave her a few tips. Come find out she was jealous at the time cause a few people were paying me attention and not her. We were rp cousins. When I asked her how did she get such a good wood texture.  What videos ect you know I love learning how to do it myself. She told me she got all her texture from second life.  She went pro in a matter of weeks. She tried to downplay and shame me in a chat room. Then my rp sissy was just let go we are family. I deleted a family group of about 500 people for the same bs. I haven’t talked to her since 2015 when all hell broke losses after I found she had a hand in my new rp family treating me a certain kinda way. I'm a black American and it's just cultural things you don’t say and she did. It wasn’t anything racist but was rude.

• Fond Memories?

Gift parties, theme parties, and full family rooms. We were a big community. 

• Animosities?  Don’t gift me anything from the dev I just spoke of we are fine. If you know me you know who.

They just decided one day role players who were pulling in customers from other sites were the enemy. Time & time again, IMVU manages to kick down avatars who are spending money or bringing new money to the platform. It's insane. Any other business would reward that kind of behavior, but not IMVU. Oh & btw, I have tons of Megapolis stuff & (Tidy machines) in my inventory. Thanks for the memories ;-)

Yes these are good memories, but IMVU eliminated these things. Now they just have this new garbage that nobody wants like V-Coin, fake NFT's & "quests" that are nothing more than bait & switch scams. It makes me so angry, I don't buy anything from IMVU anymore, because of this crap. IMVU took the good memories away & replaced it with nonsense.

I've been on IMVU since 2006. I was taught how to create mid '07 making my first 3d products then. [I was doing stickers before.]

I miss the old forums.

AP had more value.

The staff actually valued its community despite is financial issues. But they believed in what the creators were adding to their company and was excited to showcase that.

Pro status wasn't this tier garbage it is now[Seriously, you create for 2 months and go pro

Gosh, I wish I could remember more of the "Founder-Creators" of IMVU. We could call them to come post here if they like and give their views of present vs. original IMVU... :/

I too still prefer the Cal3D files to Create. So many more options if you understand editing them with notepad. LOL Mostly self taught on that part but... :D

If you're referring Nerseus as Ner, I still even use a plugin he created for XMFs. So handy and thankful for people like himself. The old forums had countless people who helped new creators learn. It's sad thinking back about how friendly everything felt and easy it was to find information created by the community to end up where we are today.

oh, how i missed those days,

Ii missed the roleplay rooms and gifting parties. all the rooms would be full. MissVix, Keef, Geo lot of dev used to be friends with parties till we drop. GOLD PASS ..... NOW ROOM ITS A SEA OF EMPTY ROOMS and people who won't ot be pets

Oh and of course I remember the original forums where I read and learnt my skills. I learned how to make my first head through TwistedNanny's head mesh tutorials, also learnt a lot from Keef and Ner. It's a warm and vivid community, not like this cold new one. I wonder where have all these lovely people gone?

aww... I missed Matt too. Never met him in rooms but he helped me understand how opacity works through messages. I know he taught so many of us (back then we were called developers) and he often emphasis how important it is to make his developers happy.

I also missed a former staff called Andre who helped me out when I was in trouble with some mesh thieves. It saddens me deeply when I heard his bad news.

Though I don't chat much, only focus on creating.... still, we used to have fun. Back then we had the top 10 pages. I made some stickers for a friend to decorate his page and that's how I started creating. Still remember the original imvu landing page had something written like: 'Can your im do this?' Was so excited when I found this site with cute avatars, so cool and able to do so much on here. Can't believe it's been 17 years... time fries.

i REMEMBER ALOTOF THINGS THAT ARE ALREADY MENTIONED AND ALOT THAT HASNT BUT MOST OF ALL THOSE WERE THE DAYS MY FRIEND......
