I've been on IMVU since 2006. I was taught how to create mid '07 making my first 3d products then. [I was doing stickers before.]
I miss the old forums.
AP had more value.
The staff actually valued its community despite is financial issues. But they believed in what the creators were adding to their company and was excited to showcase that.
Pro status wasn't this tier garbage it is now[Seriously, you create for 2 months and go pro

Gosh, I wish I could remember more of the "Founder-Creators" of IMVU. We could call them to come post here if they like and give their views of present vs. original IMVU... :/

If you're referring Nerseus as Ner, I still even use a plugin he created for XMFs. So handy and thankful for people like himself. The old forums had countless people who helped new creators learn. It's sad thinking back about how friendly everything felt and easy it was to find information created by the community to end up where we are today.

Oh and of course I remember the original forums where I read and learnt my skills. I learned how to make my first head through TwistedNanny's head mesh tutorials, also learnt a lot from Keef and Ner. It's a warm and vivid community, not like this cold new one. I wonder where have all these lovely people gone?

aww... I missed Matt too. Never met him in rooms but he helped me understand how opacity works through messages. I know he taught so many of us (back then we were called developers) and he often emphasis how important it is to make his developers happy.
I also missed a former staff called Andre who helped me out when I was in trouble with some mesh thieves. It saddens me deeply when I heard his bad news.
Though I don't chat much, only focus on creating.... still, we used to have fun. Back then we had the top 10 pages. I made some stickers for a friend to decorate his page and that's how I started creating. Still remember the original imvu landing page had something written like: 'Can your im do this?' Was so excited when I found this site with cute avatars, so cool and able to do so much on here. Can't believe it's been 17 years... time fries.

I remember Sheba, she would fly around and dance when I spent credits feeding her.
Sorry for the bad-quality, Video. It was all my phone would do in 2011
IMVU has come a LONG way since its inception. Grandfathered Creators made IMVU what it is today. We transitioned from the old bobble-headed avatars and chat bubbles to the much more attractive avatars that we enjoy today. The skins are better, the clothing is better... just everything in the catalog has come a long way. New IMVU members get a whole lot more when they first join than we ever did. Back in the day, creators (or developers, as we were once called), helped each other learn how to create on this platform and supported one another. Keef was a huge help for developers. We had just a plethora of developing groups to help one another. The old forums were active and full of easy-to-find information. This helped everyone enjoy IMVU more and create the vast catalog that we have today. Old staff recognized that developers were the heart and soul of IMVU. Grandfathered Creators today have been on IMVU longer than any current staff member. Some of the original developers of IMVU are still on IMVU, providing quality products for the masses to enjoy. With each change to the way we develop, from the old Previewer to everything that came afterwards, we adapted. In 2007, IMVU got some kind of award (I don't remember exactly what for), but IMVU was so proud that every IMVU member got stickers to display on our homepages. I remember when it was a running joke if IMVU would ever get out of Beta, but they did, and with whose help? Grandfathered Creators. Grandfathered Creators have been beta testing a plethora of new features over the years and providing feedback to make IMVU a better place. IMVU has NO RESPECT for Grandfathered Creators.

Oh yes I remember everything
I had a bug that followed me for months, I carried on me a sound box music from the soap young and the restless (with victor newman lol) and I wear a old grandma skin and I said that I was catherine chancelor xD but each time I entered a living room the music would trigger on its own without me triggering a trigger, we ended up finding that I was wearing a male product which created an incompatibility on my avatar and triggered the triger on my own arrival in the room,
I didn't forget our dear puppy I had a funeral room the day he was euthanized lol and lots of people came into the room and cried and it was really fun, (PUPPY I will never forget you lol)
also our avatar heads were huge but I thought I was too beautiful lol and when the little heads arrived I refused to remove my big avatar head I said I'll keep it forever xD
