How do I change the texture of the particles?

I went to this product.

https://www.imvu.com/shop/product.php?products_id=12030433

I saw the derivations of it and there is a few products with changed color of the animated sparkles and a few that look like a different texture. Did they make their own texture? In the Editor, the Texture section shows an 8x8 black texture. There is nothing on it. I made my own texture and opacity map and applied the changes. It only changed the invisible attachment item and not the particles.

What do I do? D:

@SoraTheAvatar It's an really old skool particle easiest to read this https://textures123.com/tutorials/particles/ . The particle used is very small, start with an 256x256 square, select a tiny brush say 15 pt brush and put a dot in the middle, save with no background like this one https://userimages-akm.imvu.com/userdata/06/37/24/92/userpics/Snap_LAnFSQ5NtW454127711.png your particle must be named particle.png, and then just drag and drop it in the assets folder

Dress is an old alt of mine that I don't really work on any more since IMVU destroyed income on it, sadly on my account dress I used to make dresses, silly meh! There's some cool studio work on it from when that was released a year or two ago more as experiments than selling products, never got any attention so I just let it fade and put effort into other sites.

to change the type of particle you have to make a .png and name it particle.png and place that one in the folder with the arrow at the left upper corner

Hi @SoraTheAvatar There is no one answer on how to Derive these types of products. The best place for support is to contact the person from which you derive. Ask for support on this product from a private message. They can direct you through the process.

I hope this helps...

That is a particle product. Particles work differently in terms of texture compared to other products. Here is a tutorial that describes how to derive from a particle product and change the texture - https://sites.google.com/site/imvudevtutorials/particle-tutorials/deriving-particle-products

BUT! If you use the new IMVU Studio instead of classic Create Mode, you CAN just change the particles' texture easily, the same way you'd change the texture of any product.
