Hi @LonDonDaBrAt, both users need to be “Visible” which is a setting makes your account visible in "Find a Friend" panel. Here you can check out your "Friend & User Settings", https://www.imvu.com/catalog/web_myaccount.php
Also, please be aware that IMVU seperates adults(+18) and minors(13-17). If your friend is below 18 or vice versa, this might be the reason why you are not able to find each other.
