I want to take a moment to talk about something that really affects every creator on this platform — the credit system and how we’re paid.
Many of us work hard, often for hours, designing and creating content that keeps IMVU alive. Some of us take payouts, others use credits for purchases or to support our alt accounts — and in my case, I do both depending on where my credits are at.
But here’s the issue: the way compensation works feels incredibly unfair. If I price an item at 300 credits, I only earn 0.12 credits from that sale. Let me repeat that — twelve cents. And that’s after I’ve already paid to create and submit the item. If I make 10 items, that’s $1.20. Imagine the time, effort, and creativity that goes into those products, just to walk away with barely a dollar.
Now, let’s break it down:
We pay to create the product.
We pay to upload it to the catalog.
We pay again when the item is sold through your commission.
And during sales (which you benefit from), we make even less.
And even after all of that, if there’s one small suspicion or issue, our accounts can be put on hold without warning or explanation. We file tickets. We wait weeks — sometimes months — for answers. We’re told we can’t move our own credits freely, even between our own verified accounts, because of “economic regulation” within IMVU. But let’s be real here: these are our earnings. We should have the right to use them as we see fit.
You encourage us to “work more, earn more.” But our earnings are capped. So where’s the incentive? How is that fair?
Frankly, it starts to feel like a form of creative dictatorship. We follow your rules, we pay into your system, and we pay taxes on what we earn — but we don’t get a say in how it’s handled or how much we’re allowed to make.
I know my name may show up a lot here in the forums, and that’s because I’m doing what you asked: bringing my concerns here. I’m not trying to stir trouble — I’m trying to get answers and advocate for fair treatment of the creators who help keep your platform going.
I rarely go into public chat rooms anymore because I don’t like what I see — the content, the behavior, the way things have changed. That’s why I create and stay in my own rooms, where I have some control. But even there, I can’t control how the credit system limits and undervalues our work.
We deserve better. We deserve respect. And we deserve answers.
Thank you,

If you are a developer then why can't I find any products in your shop?
