like to know just what is going on with Classic, from management. The mail don't want properly, 2 factor ID not working correctly, Sign in denying correct passwords, Music store not working in months but still taking money. It looks like the site is struggling to stay alive on life support. Question is: Are we in the count down to shut down classic or is IMVU about to pull the plug completely? Myself and others don't want a corporate scripted jibber jabber answer. We want the facts about these issues and considering what the consumer has been putting up with the answers need to come from the Top.

Thoughts from someone who started here in 2005:
So i too, have spent a LOT of money on this site since the beginning - but you know what? It's okay - i'm still here because the social interaction with the people i care about still exists.
Stuff changes.
Yes, Classic was a golden age.
Reality is though, the entire world now runs 64 bit operating systems. Sure, maybe, VU could code a 64 bit version of classic - yes, the interface and some features were great.
i resisted Next/Desktop for as long as i could until i got an M-series mac.
Which flat our refused to install a 32bit client because of the MASSIVE security flaws.
I've seen so many close friends (100% of them classic users) lose accounts because classic has busted 2FA but also.. sorry team, 32 bit apps just have built in vulnerabilities. It's old tech that has been outpaced.
I too complained bitterly when Next came out - i too refused to touch it and kept going back to classic.
There are some things i REALLY miss about classic - here they are:
1. The simple ability to save an outfit i made on the fly within a live room. 2. Switching rooms while in a room (and btw IMVU for gosh sakes... allow Next users to actually change which room we're sharing? You know?) 3. Being able to shop together with rooms and furniture - i'd like to be able to take my partner with me when we look for a house we're wanting to buy together.
And... yeah that's it really.
YES i miss the personal music BUT i already missed that wayyyyyy back when they cut the ability to upload our own full length audio.
Do i miss the personal mixes thing of peak level classic? Did i spend a lot on music? SURE.
Do i hate IMVU and rage quit over it? No.
Why not?
Because, sorry team... it's not IMVU's fault. This is a reality issue - streaming services (and i HATE spotify btw) have become the new normal - which means... old school licensing deals through external, NOT IMVU OWNED companies have basically gone bankrupt.
YES IT SUCKS but it's not anything IMVU can do about it no matter how many of us cry. Sorry. The service no longer has those tracks to give you because back then, that service had to pay licensing for the use of that media.
Spotify killed that, not IMVU. Blame that guy.
What else do i miss about Classic?
Not being able to see KB.
Someone else suggested adding a KB filter for room owners and a toggle to block outfit changes in room. GREAT ideas.
What else?
Nothing. Not a thing.
Room design in Next is vastly superior. More precision, no more dropped item stuck in a wall and no way to click it. Everything in a side list. This could still be tweaked a lot.. items in use should mean only that ROOM... not all furniture used in ALL my rooms. Duh.
Add a save fit button - this is a no brainer.
Music - meh. Adding functionality to broadcast Classic users music via the room radio maybe but honestly... adding a way to create your own streaming stations while someone gets paid a tiny amount would be just as good. Music bots (while i agree they are problematic) are just vastly superior to old skool players in every way, shape, of form.
I like room radios.
Graphics? I cringe when i see classic graphics now. Wouldn't go back if you paid me.
Randomly bouncing around dots with no clue which is which. Hahah... omg get over it... my public room has 500 dots. It's hell for classic and i really don't care. I want functionality and flexibility and it's really fun being on my sofa or bed and some creeper is trying to pounce me but.. he can't catch me because i have 20 dots in a 3cm space. sucks to be you!
Absolutely IMVU's owners sold out classic users by switching to mobile - and as a girl who still loves her laptop i do miss the old days
But i also accept that IMVU doesn't exist in a vaccuum anymore.
Perhaps taking a lesson from blizzard and releasing a split (or even sell of that part of the company into two chains, one 32bit and one 64? idk)
or allow/licence a 3rd party open source classic client. But.... the world just has changed.. It's not 2014 anymore.
And tbh i'm am surprised no one has reverse engineered the client with underground servers (call off your lawyers i don't suggest this)
I HATED Next - but they have continued to update it every few months, it has a dev team obviously and yeah.. i've been here since the very very very start and Next is slowly evolving into classic more and more each time.
It's sometimes hard to learn a slightly different interface. I get it. It took me a whole 4 days to master room creation in next. The first day i was screaming. Now? Triple the speed, Triple the accuracy. Would never go back
Bugs and crashes? Sure. A few times a day i click dots and crash. 30 seconds later, i'm back.. and the room stream is still playing
Clubs owned by classic users bore me - it's a silent disco - and to me, a club experience without everyone hearing the exact same thing at the same time is meh. I know, i know.. your music you paid for! ME TOO. but there is NOTHING imvu can DO about that. This is just reality, the supplier no longer has access to that music. There weren't enough people paying to keep paying licensing fees to record companies based on superseded business models. Sorry.. but that's just never coming back.. i miss it TOO.
Talking about rage-quitting if you don't rewind the entire global internet and computing is a release of some kind, sure.
Sure, there are so many annoying things about Next - sure, more users would be great. Sure... and actual non-browser improved Classic in 64 bit would be amazing for people who use real computers. I want that too.
But it's a new world... some of the stuff you want can't be fixed. It just can't.
If you are forced, like i was, to use Next with no other option possible.. it takes a week to get used to then you go oh hey... i miss that little thing but i think i'll be proactive and ask IMVU to just add that simple button, rather than asking the impossible like "force a 3rd party company that is insolvent to somehow reboot and give me my music back" - it's gone. It really, really is gone. Sorry :(
Enjoy better graphics. That's all i can say, no offence intended.

@Guest..You are 100 % right.....here is Guests translation from french to English in case nobody understood....
Personally, I think Vuvu will shut down within 3 or 4 years. It’s already been bought out three times, and the bugs just keep piling up. There’s also a simple reason: many people in France—or actually all of us—can no longer buy credits directly; those who still can face extra fees on every bank card transaction and are forced to use Neosurf or similar services. A year ago, there were over 40,000 users online during peak times; today, it’s barely 30,000. Personally, I think it’s been a huge mess ever since mobile access was introduced; unfortunately, some creators do whatever it takes to push products that are actually banned, creating a chaotic situation they’re now trying to fix. Many have left this wonderful world—which has become a breeding ground for all kinds of hate—so that’s my take on it.

Problems often arise when some user types mingle with other user types because of compatibility issues.
Some of these issues can arise when some user types are unaware of basic things like what KBs are, which names are displayed, ability or lacking ability to see chat emojis posted by Mobile users.
Classic users can only see account names
Classic users can't see emojis.
Only Classic users can see KBs while KBs still affect those whom can't see KBs... mobile phones getting overheated if someone enters with high KBs
Even if Beta / NEXT / Desktop users can't see how many KBs outfits have they can still be affected by outfits with insane levels of KBs and they start lagging and sometimes crash.
When creating chatrooms then chatroom owners should get more options in the room filter of whom are allowed to load into their chatroom. This is because of compatibility issues.
Options like:
Age range
Gender
Maximum KBs allowed
Which user type can load into the chat room: Mobile, Beta, NEXT, Desktop, Classic
Option to prevent emojis
Which name type gets displayed; account name or the name non Classic users can change to. Classic users need ability to see the name non Classic users can change to ( without needing to pay for a name change ). If Classic users are excluded from seeing the chosen name that only non Classic users can see then it can create problems that will have negative consequences on social interactions.
Outfit change prevention... some users spam frequent outfit changes while inside chat rooms and doing that causes extreme lagging and sometimes crashes

Yes I understand that younger users use their phones for everything but it has become a huge problem with them not able to see their KBs. They try to enter rooms in classic causing them to crash. In the past month I have seen at least four phone app users with KBs over 17K. Please fix this so they can see their KBs and possibly tell them what they are?

As most of you have said, this is just not right. So many of us have been in here for 10 or 12 years and so many from the birth of IMVU. They have taken so many things away for the dumbest of reasons and, of course, never considered reimbursing us even 1 credit. I use classic 99% of the time. I will post photos on fee but find I have to make sure I'm not following everyone in the universe. Yes, todays, generation is mobile but there are still plenty of us who are older and are not. It's a sad state of affairs we are facing in what used to be a place we could go for hours and hours.... OUR OTHER REALITY...... it is sinking into oblivion.

@Sarirea Yes, I agree with you. Unfortunately, they mainly focus on IMVU Mobile and IMVU Desktop and seem to be paying less attention to the old Classic Client. Some things haven't worked properly for a long time, but the bugs aren't being fixed.
I tested IMVU Desktop, but I didn't like it. Some features that work with IMVU Classic don't work with IMVU Desktop. As a long-time Classic user, I find IMVU Desktop simply boring. With the Classic Client, we always had cool parties with voice boxes, music boxes, and DJ light effects, but that's no longer possible with IMVU Desktop.

@Lyciel666 so the bubbles can be turned off. With a keyboard command. Is this information readily and easily found or is it a hidden feature known only by the long time users? If it is a hidden feature, why? Surely the classic app can be updated to make this feature readily available to the new user experience?
While the desktop and next app might cover some of the visual environment. Not having to use a work around to not see what you wrote twice is more user friendly.

BUBBLES - You can easily turn off the speech bubbles with CTRL+B - nobody has to read their writing twice if they know how to use Classic ;)
