 like to know just what is going on with Classic, from management. The mail don't want properly, 2 factor ID not working correctly,  Sign in denying correct passwords, Music store not working in months but still taking money. It looks like the site is struggling to stay alive on life support. Question is: Are we in the count down to shut down classic or is IMVU about to pull the plug completely? Myself and others don't want a corporate  scripted jibber  jabber answer. We want the facts  about these issues and considering what the consumer has been putting up with the answers need to come from the Top.

So I saw this topic and started reading responses and I saw something that caught my eye:

"I strongly suggest you spend some time learning it's features and give feedback to IMVU regarding, the inspirations you may have and contributive suggestions for further development"

Since there is IMVU Next, IMVU Desktop and IMVU Classic I decided to try all three.


Camera Navigation: Next and Desktop have better 360 viewing at the cost of speed. Classic has the viewing speed at the cost of less user friendly 360 viewing.

Product Nodes: Next and Desktop do this one very nice. You can see what your avatar is going to be doing before interacting with the product. Classic doesn't do this.

Chatting Experience: Each instance had it's ups and downs. Really comes down to preferences.
    Chat Box: Classic did this one better. It doesn't cover up the visual environment like Next or Desktop.
    Bubbles?: Do we need to see what we wrote twice? Next and Desktop wins here.
    Multiple Chat Sessions: Classic does better on being able to switch between chatting environments. Next and Desktop make it easier to follow along when not in a particular chatting scene.
    Changing Looks: I found the experience to be about the same across all three platforms.

@Abby819729 ..I have flagged your comment where you insulted and degraded people because they cannot stand the new crap IMVU is putting out..because you violated community board standards.Just because you dont like what we say doesnt mean you get to call people names and hurl insults at us.You have NO clue what you are talking about anyways.Other than the Classic Client, all the other versions are garbage, case closed.No music mixes, terrible graphics,less mobility to move around,and the list goes on and on.Mobile and Desktop are HORRIBLE.Just like electric cars are HORRIBLE.Why do you think electric cars have not taken off like they were supposed to by now.That was supposed to be the "new age invention" that all of us would soon be driving and own and that was years and years ago.Hardly anybody owns an electric car.Why? They suck, thats why....In your warped mind you think that newer automatically means better.You are so off its not even funny.The people that love and use Classic Client are the ones that spend the money on this website and keep it afloat, not the mobile newbies or desktop users.Tehy join for a month and leave.WE are the loyal ones that stay and spend money on music and items.Every idea they come up with backfires. What they should have done is put their money and resources into making the Classic Client even better and upgraded it.That would have saved this website.Do you see the declining numbers every single month? We used to have well over 100,000 people on at the same timew years ago,,on weekends it was over 150,000...now we are lucky to see it hit 30,000...and why do you think that is???? Let me answer that for you.All the people have quit and left because they refuse to upgrade and fix issues with the Classic Client.Yhey were going to get rid of the Classic Client about 5 years ago, but we have all fought them to keep it and they also do have a realization that if they do get rid of it, they may sink their ship for good...The Classic Client is where their real customers were and still are.If they dont get it together and realize that soon, and continue down the road with the mobile and desktop garbage, this website will be history.You can kiss it goodbye.So maybe then you can take all your great technology with you and drive off in your electric car into the sunset because IMVU will cease to exist....

@MrNathanLadds -- they only shutdown one version of the Flash widget but another new version exists that is functioning - this is more about $$$ than losing any contract -- plain and simple IMVU wants to control access to Music so they can profit through subscription access to use it on their platform.

If any of you geriatrics supporting Classic were to get one of the brand new electric motor cars full of the latest technological innovations, you may in fact not know how most of it works and subsequently designate it as a modern pile of crap, and go back to your clanky old petrol powered car.

This may be simply because you have no idea how the new technology works and do not know how to access the benefits you have just paid for- 

This is a similar case with the new Desktop IMVU - It operates on an advanced technology not accessible by the old Classic App.

You believe the IMVU Desktop App is no good, simply because you have no idea how to use it - It's camera is only 50,000 times better than the one in Classic - It can display textures and lighting that are simply not possible in Classic-

I strongly suggest you spend some time learning it's features and give feedback to IMVU regarding, the inspirations you may have and contributive suggestions for further development

They sell broken products that do not work constantly which is illegal and fraud.look at all the broken songs they are selling in the musict store.The songs sample perfectly fine before you buy them, then after you pay for them and put it into a mix, the wont work.They will show as playing but be totally silent.The songs go mute.They work when you sample them and dont work when they are put into mixes and we lose money constantly doing this.Also my room I had for 12 years and was our main room which had 100,000 visitors to it over the years and that we all used every single day disappeared off of my room listings and vanished and it happened right after I gave IMVU permission to go into my account to check the music issues.My room is gone forever and they have no explanation why.They even had the nerve to blame ME that I must have taken my own room down by mistake.Who takes a room down "by mistake"???? Let alone their main room they had for 12 years and was the room we used every single day.Why in the world would I take it down?They did it and have no records of it and have no way to get it back for me.Its very scary they could do this to you if they feel like it.I have NO violations on my record and they even said that and they have no idea where the room went to or why it disappeared.You would think they would have some way to get it back on a backup file or something but they say they do not.So my room is gone forever.I cried about it when I realized its gone forever.We had alot of geat memories in that room and alot of my dear friends who have since passed away spent alot of time in that old room.To lose it for no reason is heart breaking and they have no answers.They are the ONLY ones that could have did this , and my feeling is it was done on purpose because I put a complaint in about one of the IMVU agents who was very rude to me and they said they were going to discipline them.I also constantly put cases in with complaints and have become a bother to them, so I think they deleted my room on purpose to get me back....for revenge.Its very disturbing  to know you are at their mercy and can lose everything like that in a second if they want to....

The problem I seem to keep running into on this site is when something is broken , it takes to long for it to be fixed. I'm still getting multiple mails. When I access next to  do the spins I have to close it and reopen for it to load. I bought a shared room and that is a disaster. First thing it did not give me the option of which room I wanted to share, and it sent to invite to multi people. It also put the room on next empty. That room is fully decorated. I even did a shell change to another fully decorated room.  Plus the person I was sharing with landed in a different empty room we could not find each other. Support response was what I was telling them was a known issue with no ETA on a fix date. The heck with that  give me my money back. You have knowledge and still promoting and selling a defective product.  If they don't refund me I'm doing a bank charge back. When they get their mess fix I'll buy again until then  no they can't keep my money for a useless defective product.

My thoughts are running along the lines of IMVU Classic is suffering the same fate as the 20 year old RedlightCenter AKA Utheverse. The program is so old it is limited in what the Devs can do to update. I can assure you that the newer versions of this game all fall flat. When I initially joined I signed on the newer version of game figuring come in with a clean slate. I hated it. Told support this mess is not ready for release to the public and quit the game. It was my friends that dragged me back to classic. I really liked it. Everything looked 3D  and I could find the dots without a version of me sitting or standing before I got there. I won't even address the spooky mannequins in the rooms. So maybe it's time for the PTB to say to us  This is all we can do with classic the program is to old to update further. Then we can be satisfied with them just keeping Classic running in good condition. I don't buy that 2D looking clothing furniture or rooms. When I see that colorless junk with no depth to it I pass it by at high speed. Sell that mess in a cartoon world because a cartoon is all it is. The selling point of all these game is being 3D. Lose the 3D effect and you lose the concept of making things appear real and that is your money maker.

I just wish they would focus more time and energy on Classic because the users of Classic are a major source of income and the backbone of IMVU. 


I am unsure how much IMVU can earn from the advertisers that spam the users who don't use Classic but it is probably enough to keep the site afloat if the Classic users left. Still they want both sources of income and this is why IMVU Classic won't be scrapped anytime soon.


I hope this simple logic offers some comfort to those whom are worried.
