Reinstate Peer Review Exclusively to Creators

In previous years, only creators were permitted to participate in the peer review process, and it is clear that this system needs to be reinstated. In recent years, the volume of unnecessary grief flagging and improperly flagged items has increased dramatically. It is unreasonable for creators to be required to repeatedly modify their work in order to obtain approval. When these issues cannot be resolved, we are forced to file tickets for IMVU staff to correct the problems—issues that should never have occurred in the first place.

I have spent months attempting to get an AP-rated sticker, which simply states “Go F*** Yourself,” approved through peer review. I also have boots that repeatedly fail for no legitimate reason. This situation demonstrates the urgent need to return the peer review process to the hands of creators. Under the original system, I did not experience unjustified failures and things passed peer even faster. Now it takes weeks for the most part for items to pass.

The individuals currently completing peer review are compensated, albeit minimally, but participation remains a voluntary choice. If they are unwilling or unable to conduct reviews responsibly, they should not be performing the task at all. I even lost my peer review privileges for correctly failing a racist product—an outcome that is entirely nonsensical.

It is time to end the ignorance and frustration that creators continue to encounter due to careless or incompetent reviewing. The peer review system must be restored to a standard that respects creators and ensures consistency, accuracy, and fairness.
