How to Optimize Your Products in the Catalog for Outfit Challenges

The Outfit Challenge feature is optimized in its game mechanic to utilize both product attributes and Shop categories to drive search and purchases. Products that are categorized correctly and have associated attributes are more likely to be discovered, selected, and purchased.


To make sure your products and catalog show up for as many challenges as possible, we highly encourage you to update your products with attributes and move any items that belong in the new categories.


You can find detailed information on product attributes, and how to properly add them to your new and existing products here.


We have renamed older, generic categories such as New Tops and New Bottoms to Other or Legacy. If your products are still listed in these categories, we recommend moving them into more accurate and highly visible categories.


Moving your products to new categories is easy in IMVU Studio—there's no need to republish!

To update your product categories:


  • Select any product or collection of published products from your home page.

  • Click the “Update” button.

  • Choose “Subcategory” under the Property to Edit.

  • Select a new category for your products and click “Confirm.”

  • You’re all set!




If you feel that your product doesn’t fit into an existing category, please send your suggestions for new categories to creator.advocate@imvu.com

This Isn't Helping Many People Achieve A Better IMVU Experience...

Because For Many, This Is Irrelevant To The Internal Problems They Have... ~__~

& To Some, This Is A Waste Of Time, & Has No Importance To Them At All...

It's Like Your Avoiding, & Ignoring An Big Issue,
While Messing Around With Other Things...

& All Anyone Cares About Is That One Big Issue Your Ignoring... ~__~

Then You Constantly Question Why People Aren't Happy,
With Any Of Your Changes You Keep Frequently Making At All, ~__~

By The Time You Get To The Original Issue People Have,
After All Your Changes Are Made??

You Will Of Already Lost All Of Your Customers,
All Simply, Due To The Ignoring Of Them From The
Very Start Of The Issue That Drove Them Away... ~__~

That Is Just My Take On This:

I Can't Do Nothing About Internal Problems, Or
What IMVU Staff Is Going Through??

I Also Can't Do Anything About What People Lost
Over The Problems That Aren't Even Their Faults,
But This Is Something Deeper That Is An Issue Here,
Which Is Making Many People Not Avoid It...

For 1, Even If We Wanted To Just Accept That
We Are Losing An Account, & Have To Create Another??

There Are Too Many Underlying Very Big Problems
That Are Going Un-Answered On This Platform,
Which Is Bringing Many To Respond With...

We Aren't Interested In Starting Over,
Either We Get Our Accounts Back, Or We Are Leaving...

Those Accounts Are Deleted??
You Can't Get Them Back,
There Is Nothing That Can Be Done...

Is Not An Answer Involving People Staying On IMVU,
That's Telling Them They Need To Leave...

In A Poorly Developed Society...

Over Spending Money You Don't Have,
In A Poorly Developed Atmosphere,
Is Pure Desperate For Something To Give,
& Has Actually Little To No Value In Any Form
Of Real Success Rate Given...

Anotherwords, Your Looking At A Risk Taking Measure,
That Does Not Result With You Coming Out On Top In The End,
In Nearly Every Circumstance...

That's Not Even The Half Of It, Because If People Are Already
Aware Of This Problem? Most Will Likely Bail Out Early In Order
To Avoid Being Stuck In The Problem At All...

If A Case Like This Was Designed To Be Worked This Way On Purpose?

People Who See Right Through The Design,
Are Not Going To Be Impacted By The Design At All...

& It's Entirely Foolish To Think It Won't Matter,
When The Only Person Those Design Problems Will Effect
Is The Company, Person In Control From The Start,
& Not The Actual Customer At All...

& As I Said, Infinite, & Sustainability Cannot Last Forever,
In A Poorly Designed Troubling Environment, & Infinite Money Won't Matter...
