Dear IMVU Team,

I’d like to share some respectful but honest feedback regarding the latest IMVU Mobile update. Unfortunately, my experience with it has been very disappointing.

The UI appears significantly smaller, and on my iPhone 11 my eyes are straining just to read the chatroom tab. I will be including a few screenshots to show examples of how increasingly tiny the interface elements appear. The previous layout was much more comfortable and accessible.

It is now difficult to quickly check who is in rooms at a glance compared to how it previously functioned. The older version made it much easier to view room occupants and decide where to join without extra steps.

Navigating the chatroom tab has also become frustrating. It is now harder to distinguish between live rooms and regular chatrooms. Having to repeatedly calibrate search categories each time feels tedious and unnecessary. Previously, users could simply tap “Live Events” or “Chatrooms” and immediately find what they were looking for. The new sliding bars for occupancy and other filters feel excessive and make the experience more complicated rather than streamlined.

Additionally, when entering a chatroom, there is a large black bar between the keyboard and the room interface. It feels visually disruptive and makes the experience frustrating.

I’ve also noticed a significant increase in lag since the update. Several friends have complained specifically about microphone lag, and I personally have had to leave and rejoin rooms multiple times just to get the mic functioning properly again. This was not an issue for me prior to the update.

The new “passes” addition is also quite confusing and feels out of place within the current layout. It is not immediately clear how it integrates with the rest of the platform.

The “Join Your Friends” tab feels invasive as well. Many users value their location privacy for a reason, and this feature makes that feel less respected.

As a suggestion for future updates, I would strongly encourage adding an option that allows users to make their IMVU stream pages private. Giving users more control over their visibility and privacy would be greatly appreciated.

I would also like to suggest bringing back a dedicated bio tab. The current single-line tagline feels very limiting and quickly becomes crowded, making it difficult to meaningfully express our personalities and interests. The previous bio format allowed for more creativity and individuality, which is an important part of the IMVU experience.

Lastly, I would appreciate consideration for a larger, more readable UI when viewing profiles and hashtags. The current scaling feels compressed and makes browsing profiles less enjoyable than it used to be.

As a long-term player since 2012, it’s discouraging to see major changes implemented that don’t appear to reflect user requests, especially when similar concerns often go unaddressed later on. I genuinely regret updating and wish there were an option to revert to the previous version.

While the new bottom swipe bar for navigating between tabs may sound helpful in theory, it feels as though many core features were compromised to accommodate it.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as many longtime users value the comfort, stability, privacy, and functionality that originally made IMVU enjoyable.

Sincerely,
User @yoppas
