They can if you can prove an old account is yours.
They will likely ask questions about:
What the E Mail Address was used for that account
Which of the 3 security question asked back was used and what your answer was. Those security questions you will still know the answers to because of the nature of those questions. The Name of Your Favorite Book and Author's Name is or The Name of Your First Pet and Type of Pet... like Breed of Cat or Dog , or What the Name of Highschool Mascot was and What Type of Mascot it Was.
Purchase history of that account.. like what card was used to buy AP..... the Bank archive records can retrieve such data as previous credit cards owned and often dates and amounts were spent on what items
Name and address of account owner..... folk can remember their old addresses or easily find out
The more you remember the easier it will be to find archives with information about what you forgot.
It won't be easy to get a hold or lock lifted on an inactive account BUT it can be done.
Be prepared to answer basically the same questions several times and corresponding back and forth with IMVU Community Services over a dozen times. It will seem like an annoying process; especially second and third time you will have to provide same answers to basically same questions. Just remember what's important and never let yourself become emotional or triggered; always try to be respectful even if you feel disrespected by someone who seems to be ignoring your previous answers.
The end goal is to get old account back and not get into a conflict.
Does this make sense?
Tips:
Always make a draft of anything you plan to post using a text worksheet, tripple check spelling, grammar and sentence structure.
Proof read the draft a few times and don't send it same day
Wait to send what was written or rewritten until a day or two after the typo errors were edited. This waiting time allows you to be sure everything was written correctly.
