Important Change: VIP Requirement for Peer Review (Starting June 1)

I want to bring something to the attention of other creators because I’m not sure how many people are aware of this yet.

According to a response I received from IMVU Support, starting June 1, only Diamond and Emerald VIP members will be eligible to submit Peer Review requests.

If this is correct, this is a major change from how things have worked for years.

Up until now, the understanding has always been that having VIP (any tier) allowed creators to submit products. With this change, creators on Gold or Platinum will no longer be able to submit unless they upgrade to one of the highest tiers.

For reference, the current VIP pricing is:

  • Gold – $4.99/month
  • Platinum – $9.99/month
  • Diamond – $19.99/month
  • Emerald – $29.99/month

This means creators may now be required to pay $20–$30 per month per account just to continue submitting products.

Why this is concerning:

Creators already pay:

  • Submission fees
  • Duration fees
  • Commission on sales

Many of us also manage multiple accounts, which makes this increase even more significant.

On top of that, some products are already sitting in Peer Review for extended periods, and it’s unclear how this change will affect them after June 1.

Questions that need clarification:

  • Was this change formally announced to creators?
  • Why is Peer Review now limited to only the highest VIP tiers?
  • What happens to creators who cannot afford to upgrade?
  • What happens to products already waiting in review?

I’ve been on this platform for many years, and like many others, I’ve invested time, effort, and money into creating content.

This change raises serious concerns about fairness and transparency, and I believe it deserves clear answers.

If you are a creator, I strongly encourage you to look into this and see how it may affect you.

I'm not a creator but I have friends that create. The way how vu been treating yall creators throughout the years is so unfair and awful. I wouldn't be surprised that every single creator just stop at this point.

Just Asked For Some Help With Peer Review, I Made 2 Pairs Of Pants, Then Went On To Make 10 More Items - 2 Pair Of Pants Never Came Out Of Peer Review But All The Other Things After Have Been Out For 3 Days Now, So Sent In A Ticket...And The Response I Got Was Not Good :

"I checked on this and I can see here that you are currently using a non VIP account. For this matter you need to be a Diamond or Emerald tier VIP user to be eligible to ask for peer review through support.

Kindly wait for your product to pass peer review or upgrade your VIP to Diamond or Emerald tier.

So Basically Being A Member Of This Site For 18yrs Isn't Enough To Get Any Sorta Support On Peer Review Matters. Good Luck Everyone...I Think I'm Gonna Go Make Some Informed Decisions....-smh-

I want to raise a serious concern because after reviewing recent updates and support responses, it appears that multiple changes are being introduced at once that significantly impact creators, and I’m not sure how many people are fully aware of it yet. Starting June 1, only Diamond and Emerald VIP members will be eligible to submit Peer Review requests, which already forces creators into the highest tiers just to continue submitting products, despite the long-standing understanding that any VIP level was sufficient. On top of that, payout structures are now tied to MASA limits, meaning creators cannot freely withdraw what they earn and are restricted by caps, with only small increases allowed depending on VIP tier, and even faster payouts require additional fees. At the same time, there have been discussions of a 20% royalty cap across derivation chains, changes to how Credits and Predits are distributed, and the removal of certain royalty types altogether. When all of this is combined, it creates a system where creators are being required to pay more (higher VIP tiers, submission fees, duration fees, commissions) while having less control over both their ability to submit products and access their own earnings. Many of us have invested years of time, creativity, and significant money into building catalogs, and discovering these changes in pieces rather than through clear, upfront communication is extremely concerning. From where I stand, it feels like creators are being pushed into higher costs at every level while also being limited in what they can earn and withdraw, and I believe this deserves immediate transparency and clarification so that creators can fully understand what is happening and make informed decisions moving forward.
