WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL MY MUSIC???!!!! WHERE IS MY MUSIC AND ALL OF MYMIXES????? ARE YOU KIDDING ME HERE???? I HAD OVER 650 TOTAL MIXES AND THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF SONGS IN MY MUSIC INVENTORY AND THAT WAS ACCUMULATED OVER 12 YEARS AND ALOT OF HARD EARNED MONEY SPENT ON IT AND YOU PEOPLE HAVE THE NERVE TO TELL US YOU ARE ONLY REFUNDING MEMBERS SINCE OCTOBER 2025???? IS THIS A JOKE????? WHAT ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO HAVE THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF SONGS AND ALL THAT MONEY WE SPENT ON THEM OVER THE YEARS???? YOU CALL THIS YOUR SOLUTION???? WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK FOR EVERYTHING WE SPENT AND YOU TOOK AWAY..ALL OF IT...EVERY PENNY WE SPENT ON OUR MUSIC...NOT JUST SINCE OCTOBER ..THAT IS INSANE..YOU HAVE SOME NERVE...ON TOP OF THAT YOU NEVER EVEN GAVE US A WARNING THAT WE WOULD EVEN BE LOSING ALL OUR MUSIC THAT WE ALREADY HAD..I HAD NO CHANCE TO EVEN DOCUMENT ALL MY SONGS AND MIXES ..THEY JUST DISAPPEARED ...ITS AS IF YOU PLANNED THIS....TO NOT GIVE US A CHANCE TO BE ABLE TO PROVE WHAT WE HAD...SO WHAT NOW????WHAT ABOUT PEOPLE WHO DONT HAVE STRONG ENOUGH COMPUTERS TO STREAM MUSIC???? ..WE DO NOT WANT TO STREAM MUSIC !!!!! WE DONT WANT RADIO STATIONS EITHER  OR LINKS TO MUSIC STATIONS !!!! WHAT MADE IMVU FUN AND UNIQUE WAS THAT EACH OF US AND OUR FRIENDS HAD THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL MIXES AND MUSIC TASTES THAT WE COULD SHARE WITH ONE ANOTHER AND TALK ABOUT...IT WAS USUALLY THE MAIN TOPIC OF CONVERSATION..THE SONGS WE HAD, THE ARTISTS AND OUR UNIQUE TASTES..I HAVE INTERNATIONAL FRIENDS WHO HAD TONS OF MUSIC FROM THEIR COUNTRIES AND WAS UNIQUE TO THEM AND NOW YOU BASICALLY STOLE THAT FROM THEM...AND YOU ARE GOING TO JUST SIT THERE AND HAVE THE NERVE TO JUST BASICALLY TELL US "TOO BAD, WE ARE ONLY COVERING MUSIC PURCHASES SINCE OCTOBER 2025" ????????? WHO MADE THAT DECISION AND CAME UP WITH THAT???? YOU OWE EVERY SINGLE MEMEBER YOU HAVE NOW TAKEN THEIR MUSIC FROM EVERY PENNY THEY EACH PAID FOR ALL THE YEARS OF BUYING MUSIC....YOU HAVE ALREADY LOST MOST OF YOUR MEMBERS THE LAST FEW YEARS AS IT IS..BUT THIS TOPS THE CAKE..THIS TOPS EVERYTHING.. HOW MUCH GALL AND NERVE YOU HAVE TO TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS...BASICALLY STEAL OUR MONEY FROM US THAT WE PAID ALL THROUGH THE YEARS....HOW AM I NOW SUPPOSED TO PROVE THE THOUSANDS OF SONGS I HAD..I HAD OVER 650 MIXES !!!!!!!!! THATS WHAT WE ALL LOOKED FORWARD TO THE MOST ON HERE...PLAYING OUR MIXES AND MUSIC AND YOU JUST DESTROYED THAT WITHOUT EVEN HAVING THE COURTESY OF TELLING US WHEN IT WOULD ACTUALLY HAPPEN....THE ONLY CHOICE NOW MOST OF US WILL HAVE IS TO EITHER FILE A CLASS LAWSUIT OR JUST QUIT THE WEBSITE ALL TOGETHER....THE WAY YOU PEOPLE TREAT US LIKE GARBAGE JUST NEVER SEEMS TO STOP...I JUST CANT BELIEVE YOU TOOK ALL MY BELOVED MIXES AND SONGS AWAY FROM ME LIKE THIS...I HAD SUCH MEMORIES IN EVERY SINGLE MIX I MADE..I HAD MEMORIAL MIXES MADE FOR FRIENDS I MADE ON HERE THAT HAD PASSED AWAY THROUGH THE YEARS DEDICATED AND TITLED TO THEM..I SO ENJOYED PUTTING TOGETHER NEW MIXES AND MAKING THEM FOR FRIENDS  FOR HOLIDAYS, BIRTHDAYS,CHRISTMAS, HALLOWEEN AND LIKE I SAID, WHEN WE GRIEVED LOSING A DEAR FRIEND AND  MEMBER ON HERE....YOU LEFT A BIG VOID IN MY HEART BY TAKING THAT AWAY FROM ME NOW...THOSE MIXES WERE VERY IMPORTANT TO ME AND I DESERVE TO BE TREATED BETTER THAN THIS...WE ALL DO....HOW MUCH MORE OF THIS ARE WE SUPPOSED TO TAKE???? TO ME, THIS COULD HAVE BEEN THE FINAL DEATH BLOW FOR IMVU....WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO US BY STEALING OUR MONEY AND TAKING AWAY OUR MUSIC LIKE THIS IS A CRIME...

Why are you acting like you are the spokesperson for IMVU?

@PamelaAnderson. No, I don't work for them, nor do I represent them. I just talk about what I see. It's not so much defending what they do or don't do. It's more about an understanding or acceptance of how things work when dealing with digital content that is on a platform that is not my own. It's why I'm extremely reluctant on buying digital content on various platforms and prefer physical instead or see what backup plans I can make if I must go digital. Call me paranoid. So for example, I will buy an album off of Amazon. I have the album on my phone, then I have it backed-up on my laptop, and on a thumb drive.

In regards to the thief example. You're comparing physical goods vs digital goods. Biggest difference between the two is that you tend to actually own the physical object vs a digital copy of something tends to be a form of rental or a license for your account. So like I could sell you my physical copy of a Switch game, but I can't remove a shirt from here and transfer that shirt to your account or if I can, I just haven't figured out how to do so.

There is also that understanding in the back of my mind that tomorrow IMVU could in fact decide to shut down. Probably why I don't spend a lot of money on here. Because when talking about a platform that isn't mine. That risk is always there.

Now moving on to the next reply...

As far as not being able to make backups of the music that was bought for your account or having very limited options on doing so. That might not be IMVU's fault. Looking at the platform setup, IMVU seems to be the middle man in all of this. There are at least 3+ parties here. You have regional laws. It's why one week you might be able to buy a song and listen to it, then all of a sudden you can't a week later. Then you have the music provider. IMVU isn't holding all the music that people could buy, it's someone else. They go back and forth with the music provider. Next, you have IMVU and they go back and forth with the provider in a sense. This is why I call IMVU the middle man. Finally there is the consumer. So with the users here on IMVU it's like this, or at least my understanding. User > IMVU > Provider.

The not making a backup of each account seems a bit strange to me. Especially with how fragile technology is as a whole. I can understand why they wouldn't because of how much data it would require to do so. But at the same time, not having a failsafe in case of a system crash seems a bit dangerous. Not only for the consumer, but for the platform in general.

I had 185 pages of songs....25 songs on each page..which equals 4625 total songs...that comes out to over 3 million credits total spent on their music..each song roughly costs 70 cents...(649 credits) That means I spent $3235.00 total on my music....these people are noiw offering me a few thousand credits...what a joke

@Sarirea..You also wrote the following... In their TOS, they strongly suggest people download any song they buy. From their TOS "Once you have purchased Digital Content, we encourage you to download it promptly and to make backup copies of it."..To show you have no idea what you are talking about, do you realize only about 5% of all their songs we bought actually could be downloaded????? There were hardly any downloadable MP3 songs that were sold in their store...The other 95% of all the songs COULD NOT BE DOWNLOADED OR MADE COPIES OF as you suggest. So you can defend them all you want to, at least get your facts straight...You also answered my question when I asked  HOW AM I NOW SUPPOSED TO PROVE THE THOUSANDS OF SONGS I HAD? You responded with this.... You shouldn't have to. Unless their systems don't make backups of each account. Which would be a bad thing in my opinion.NEWSFLASH FOR YOU...They did NOT make backups of each account, I was told this by their own reps..So yes, thats a very bad thing and no I shouldnt have to prove what I had but now I wont be able to because they gave us no time or warning..very convenient that they just gave us no heads up so we could prove what we owned, like it was a calculated strategy to make sure we would never have proof anymore what we all had and spent on here....I guess you defend that also? We refuse to be glutons for punishment, disrespected and abused anymore. You can continue if you want..thats on you...

@Sarirea..Seriously??? Do you work for them or represent them???.You have done nothing but defend this atrocity and act like they are doing us a favor. They STOLE our money. We bought years worth of music and they took it away from us and lied about it on top of everything.I guess you would defend a thief who breaks into your home to steal your belongings and say he was very generous not to take everything in your house because he left you afew things you can still use and you should be thankful you still kept in your house what the crook didnt steal. And I couldnt care less about some other website you named or what they do..that has NOTHING to do with this. You go be happy with what IMVU did....good luck....This website is on a crash course to destruction anyways..people have had enough being treated like garbage and everyone is leaving it.The numbers on everyday keep declining steadily and this may have been the final straw for most...let them take advantage of YOU and spit in YOUR face....The rest of us are all sick of it at this point.....

@PamelaAnderson. Help doesn't always come in the way we would expect or want. Couple years ago a police officer stopped myself and a friend because we happened to be walking on the road, but not like directly in the middle but not on the sidewalk either. We didn't get in any trouble, but I had it in my brain that the officer was just being a jerk with nothing better to do. So I went on a research hunt to go and prove the officer was wrong and somehow we were right. After taking like 10 minutes of my time to prove the officer wrong. I sent a text message to my friend and was like OMG! the officer was actually right and not just out to get us.

On another thing though, but if they are giving refunds on music from a certain time period forward. It looks very generous. Steam only let's people return a product if it's less than 14 days old and / or been played less than 2 hours.

While I can understand the frustration of losing so much. Sadly the biggest lie ever told on the internet is "I read the Terms of Service" There was another user that was also talking about music on IMVU and that got me to reading their TOS is deeper detail to see what their whole music spiel was. Reading what you wrote though, did make me start looking for answers and solutions.

There is a lot to unpack, but I'm going to try and help.

"I HAD NO CHANCE TO EVEN DOCUMENT ALL MY SONGS" In their TOS, they strongly suggest people download any song they buy. From their TOS "Once you have purchased Digital Content, we encourage you to download it promptly and to make backup copies of it."

"WHAT ABOUT PEOPLE WHO DONT HAVE STRONG ENOUGH COMPUTERS TO STREAM MUSIC????" If you are playing a mix from the music store, you are streaming music.

"HOW AM I NOW SUPPOSED TO PROVE THE THOUSANDS OF SONGS I HAD" You shouldn't have to. Unless their systems don't make backups of each account. Which would be a bad thing in my opinion.

"THE ONLY CHOICE NOW MOST OF US WILL HAVE IS TO EITHER FILE A CLASS LAWSUIT" In their TOS the very first line in huge letters talks about mandatory arbitration on a case by case basis.

There are free to use platforms out there that users could create their own playlists. With music that is pretty easy to get and make who knows how many mixes free of charge and stream them to IMVU. It doesn't get the credits back sure, but at least the music can still be enjoyed and allow for room hosts to maintain their unique feel.
