I am writing this suggestion to highlight a massive issue faced by the Indian gaming community on IMVU, which makes up a significant and growing percentage (around 5-8%) of active users.
Right now, there is a huge disparity between the Mobile App and the Desktop Website stores regarding payment methods and offers:
No Direct Access Pass (AP) on Mobile: On the mobile app, we can easily buy Age Verification using INR via Google Play Store. However, there is no direct option to buy the Access Pass (AP) on mobile after getting verified.
Desktop Store is Inaccessible to Indians: To buy the Access Pass or take advantage of the amazing desktop sales (like the current $11.99 AP sale or cheap credit bundles), we have to use the desktop website. But the desktop website ONLY accepts International Credit Cards, PayPal, or crypto.
The Reality of Indian Users: The vast majority of players in India DO NOT have international credit cards or PayPal. We rely entirely on UPI (Unified Payments Interface - PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm) and local net banking.
Because of this, thousands of Indian players who WANT to spend money and buy upgrades during sales are completely blocked from doing so. Even buying credits on mobile costs double (2,050 INR) compared to the desktop sale price (~1,000 INR), which is very unfair.
My Suggestions:
Please add localized Indian payment options, specifically UPI, to the Desktop Website store.
Alternatively, bring the exact same desktop store bundles and sales to the Mobile App via Google Play billing.
Unlocking UPI payments will massively boost IMVU’s transactions and revenue from the Indian market, as players won't be restricted by credit card barriers anymore.
