Formal Request to Stop Excessive Unwanted Messaging and Provide User Control Over Communications

I am contacting you regarding the excessive number of messages I am receiving from IMVU—often around 20 messages per day. This level of communication is excessive, disruptive, and negatively impacts the user experience.

IMVU users should have the ability to control the communications they receive from the platform. I have attempted to find a clear and functional way to disable these non-essential messages, but I have been unable to do so.

Consumers should have the right to manage their own communication preferences and decide what types of messages they wish to receive. A platform should not force users to remain exposed to a constant stream of unwanted notifications without providing a clear and accessible opt-out option.

I am requesting the following:

  1. Immediate removal of my account from all non-essential promotional and unwanted messaging
  2. A clear and accessible option for users to disable these communications
  3. Confirmation that my communication preferences have been updated

If IMVU does not currently provide a way for users to fully control and disable these messages, then I strongly request that this feature be created. Giving users control over their own notifications is a basic expectation of a modern online platform.

Users come to IMVU to enjoy the community, socialize, and have a positive experience not to be repeatedly interrupted or pressured by unwanted messages or additional spending opportunities.

This concern comes after other frustrations within the platform, including the loss of services and value that many users invested in. Many of us are here because we enjoy the community and want to continue using IMVU, but we should not feel pressured or overwhelmed while doing so.

Please treat this as a serious user experience and consumer communication concern and provide a reasonable solution.

Due to the lack of resolution through support tickets, I will also be sharing this concern with the IMVU community so that moderators and community representatives are aware of the issue and can take action to help address these concerns. Users deserve to have their voices heard and receive a response when repeated attempts through normal support channels have not resulted in a solution.

This topic seems to come up every few weeks in the forum but nothing is ever done about it.
