Which version of IMVU’s 3D chat client do I need to sell and purchase outfits?

You can download and use 3D chat client version 464.0 or up to use the Outfits category in IMVU’s virtual catalog.

Who can sell outfits?

IMVU’s registered Creators can design and sell outfits in our catalog. Please read about our Creator program here: http://www.imvu.com/creators

Why do I see “can not be sold” for an outfit I want to sell?

An outfit can be sold if all included items are “bundleable” i.e their creators have allowed them to be included in a bundle or an outfit. You can click on the “can not be sold” warning text for an outfit to see which items do not meet such criteria.

Do outfits go through Peer Review?

No. Outfits can only be created using peer-reviewed items within our catalog, hence, the outfit itself does not go through the review process. However, if you change the web catalog icon for your outfit or give it a product description via the “Edit Settings & Add HTML Description” link, it will be forced through Peer Review

What are the submission costs for selling an outfit?

You will be charged 500 credits for submitting an item to our catalog. Developer tokens cannot be used for this purpose.

How does the pricing for an outfit work?

Profit for the creator of an outfit is pre-set at 100 credits. You may not adjust the profit. The total price for an outfit includes this profit, IMVU’s fees (including bundle derivation fees), retail markup and all the profits for individual items within that outfit.

Can outfits be purchased with promotional credits?

Outfits can only be purchased with regular credits. Promotional credits can not be used.

How is an outfit determined to be GA or AP?

An outfit that includes at least one AP item is automatically rated as AP. An outfit including only GA-rated items is rated as GA.

Can I change the image of an outfit I have submitted?

No, IMVU automatically saves an image of your outfit to be used in Shop. The image used in the client Shop cannot be altered. However, you may change the web catalog icon for your outfit via the “Edit Settings & Add HTML Description” link but it will ONLY be visible on the web. If you try to change your outfit image via your Outfit tab in the client, that change will only be visible to you.

How is the product name determined for an outfit?

IMVU automatically assigns a name for each outfit submitted to the catalog so that the Outfit submission does not have to go through Peer Review. The Creator of an Outfit Bundle can optionally edit the name, catalog image and description but doing so will put the Outfit Bundle through Peer Review.

Can I hide or remove an outfit that I have submitted to the catalog?

You can hide an Outfit Bundle using the visibility toggle found on the product's info page. However, you can not remove it.

Can I modify the outfit I just bought?

Yes, You can add/remove items from an outfit you have purchased and save it for your own use. The catalog item is not affected.

Can I change the products included in an outfit I already submitted?

No. Once an outfit is submitted, its contents cannot be modified.

What if I already own one or more items being sold in an outfit?

You can still purchase the outfit. You will not be charged for the items you already own.

What happens if my outfit is flagged?

If an Outfit is flagged for review, it will be reviewed by Customer Service for adherence to the Terms of Service and Virtual Goods Policy.

Why can’t I see my wishlisted Outfit?

Outfits are shown in a different Wishlist category. Open the “Wishlist” tab in Shop, click on the drop-down menu next to Show Only, and click on the “All Outfits” selection to see your wishlisted outfits.

Where do I add outfit keywords?

There is no need to add separate keywords since our search uses the keywords already available in each product within the outfit.

What happens if an item included in an item is re-rated by Customer Service?

Example 1: If an item in an outfit is rerated to UFI, that outfit containing the item will not be available to customers to purchase in the Shop. Anyone who previously purchased that outfit will find that the UFI product is removed from the inventory, and that they have received a refund for that item.

Example 2:
If an item in an outfit is rerated to AP and a user who previously purchased that outfit does not own an Access Pass, the outfit itself becomes an AP outfit and is not visible to GA users. Any GA users who purchased the outfit before the item was re-rated to AP will receive a refund for that item, and it will be removed from their inventory. In each example, there is no refund for the entire outfit itself. Additionally, the outfits themselves will remain in the customer’s Outfit tab, without the rerated products.

Will I receive a Dev Token when a purchase is made with Promo Credits?

Yes. This feature uses the same functionality as other products: you will receive 1 dev token when predits are used in a regular catalog purchase.
