How to Change Your Avatar Name

Ready to refresh your avatar’s identity? IMVU offers the flexibility to change your avatar name anytime, unlike platforms that permanently lock usernames. To change your avatar name, you’ll need a Name Change Token.

Here are some key points to keep in mind about name changes and Name Change Tokens:

• A name change is only permitted if the following conditions are met:
  • The new avatar name you desire is available. 
  • You have not had a name change in the past 7 days.
• Name Change Token can be purchased multiple times and stored for future use.
• Tokens can only be purchased using “real” currency (ie: credit card, PayPal, etc.), not with Credits. 
• Each token is single-use and non-transferable.
• Unused tokens remain in your account.

• Be careful if you are making a name change. The newly changed name is permanent and cannot be undone (except by another name change).
• Be mindful of unpaid credit offers before changing your name to ensure partners can pay you out properly.

Changing Your Avatar Name

Step 1. Purchase a Name Change Token here: https://www.imvu.com/next/store/.

Step 2. Head to https://secure.imvu.com/catalog/web_change_avatar_name.php. The page will indicate the number of name change tokens you currently have.

Step 3. Enter your new avatar name twice, and verify your account’s password.

Step 4. Click the Change Avatar Name button to save your changes.

If the name you want is unavailable, you will see a notification similar to the one below.
