While we’re thrilled to provide these upgrades on mobile, some features may still require a quick visit to your web browser or the IMVU Desktop app—but we’ll guide you every step of the way.

Marriage Package

Tie the knot and start your happily ever after. Take your relationship to the next level and make it IMVU-official with a Marriage Package with perks to help you start your newlywed life together.

Marriage Package Perks:

Marriage announcement of your union
Name Change Token for you and your spouse
A “Married” status badge for your profiles
A Shared Room to decorate and make a home together
Linked Profiles to show your commitments

You can purchase the Marriage Package on mobile, but actions such as proposing, responding to a proposal, canceling, or divorcing must be done through your web browser in the Classic experience.

After the purchase, IMVU Official will message you with a link to pop the big question. Just enter your partner’s avatar name and a personal message.

Proposals will be rejected if:

The recipient is already married
Their account doesn’t exist
They’re under 18
They have another pending proposal

You will be notified once your proposal is accepted or declined. Having a change of heart? No worries, you can cancel the proposal anytime if it’s still pending.

Proposal accepted? Congrats! You’ll have the option to send a mass message and let your friends know you’re IMVU-official!

Note: Blocking or unfriending your spouse will result in a divorce. Divorces are final—you will need to purchase another Marriage Package to tie the knot again.

Name Change Token

Your name, your choice. A Name Change Token allows you to change your avatar’s name to whatever you’re currently vibing. There’s no limit—get as many Name Change Tokens as you want and change your name as many times as you like! This only applies to your avatar name, not your display name.

After the purchase, IMVU Official will message you with a link to start the name change process.

Name Change

This screen will show you how many Name Change Tokens you own. One Name Change Token will be deducted each time you successfully change your avatar name.

Here’s how to change your name:

New Avatar Name: Enter your new preferred avatar name.
Confirm New Avatar Name: Enter your new preferred avatar name again to confirm.
Verify Your Password: Enter your password to verify it’s you.
Tap Next and then tap Change to confirm the request or Edit to go back and make changes.

You will be asked to log out and will receive a notification that you’ve successfully changed your name.

Chat Room Slot

Your Party, Your Rules—own your own hotspot! You can’t host an IMVU hotspot without first becoming a host. Chat Room Slots allow you to host a public chat room so that other users can discover and join. Throw a party, start a club, or just create your go-to chill zone.

After the purchase, IMVU Official will message you with instructions on where to set up your new space.

Manage Your New Room

From the app, navigate to Chat and then tap on My Rooms. From there, set up and edit your room as you like. To decorate your room, you will need to navigate to Web or Desktop.

Shared Room

Why decorate solo when you can team up with a friend? A Shared Room lets you co-manage and decorate a room together—combining styles, furniture, and good vibes. You can get multiple Shared Rooms and share a room with each of your friends. Make it public, and co-host a party!

Note: A Chat Room Slot is needed to host a public Shared Room. You can make your Shared Room public by following these steps: http://im.vu/help383.

Shared Room Perks:

Co-manage and decorate with a friend
Use furniture from both of your inventories
Make it public (with a room slot) and co-host events
Earn a snazzy animated badge for your profile

After the purchase, IMVU Official will message you with a link to invite a friend to be your shared room partner.

Set Up a Shared Room:

Navigate to Chat and then tap on My Rooms.
Select your new Shared Room and then tap the gear icon to manage it.
From the “Set Up Shared Room” screen, tap Invite.
Search for the friend you want as your room partner and then add a message (optional), then tap Send.

Once you send the invite, your friend will need to accept or decline it, and you will receive a notification either way. If you change your mind, you can cancel the pending invite or unshare the room later.

Note: If you stop sharing a public room, any items you do not own will be removed and your shared room will be deleted.
