The IMVU Creator program is a cornerstone of the IMVU Community. It is the ultimate expression of creativity in IMVU. Creators, also known as Developers, produce thousands of amazing 2D and 3D products every day and publish those in the IMVU Catalog. In fact, nearly 100% of the millions of products in the IMVU Catalog were created by other talented IMVU customers. Most Creators base their product designs off of a product already in the Catalog, a process called "deriving." Some create their own 3D assets from scratch using 3D Studio Max or similar programs. All products are submitted via Create Mode in the IMVU Classic.
As a plus, Creators can earn real money through their efforts!
As part of the Creator registration process, you must agree to IMVU's Terms of Service, not to violate trademark or copyright law, and you also agree to IMVU's Virtual Goods Policy and Privacy Policy. Before becoming a Creator, it is very important that you read through the IMVU Terms of Service, the Virtual Goods Policy, and the Privacy Policy.
Starting May 10, 2012 10:00 AM Pacific Time, new Content Creators must be VIPs in order to submit virtual goods to IMVU’s catalog. However, if you are already registered as a Content Creator as of May 9th, you will experience no change. These Creators are “grandfathered” into the current program, meaning you will continue to enjoy uninterrupted product submission capabilities without the necessity of being a VIP. Please take note that IMVU reserves the right to end the “grandfathering” benefit at any time, though we do not anticipate doing so now.
New Content Creators must be a VIP Platinum, VIP Diamond, or VIP Emerald holder in order to submit virtual goods to IMVU’s catalog. However, if you are already registered as a Creator before May 9 2012, you will experience no change. These Creators are “grandfathered” into the current program, meaning you will continue to enjoy uninterrupted product submission capabilities without the necessity of being a VIP. Please take note that IMVU reserves the right to end the “grandfathering” benefit at any time, though we do not anticipate doing so now.
To sign up as a Creator, follow the steps below:
Signing Up as an IMVU Creator
STEP 1: Go to www.imvu.com, and then login to your account. If you are having problems logging in, click here.
STEP 2: Click Account.
STEP 3: Scroll down to the Creator Tools section, and then click on the Sign up link.
Alternatively, you may hover your mouse over the Community section of the site's navigation bar. On the dropdown that appears, click on Creator Program.
STEP 4: You will be redirected to the Creator Landing page. Click the Create Now! button.
Note that if you do not have VIP, you will receive the following prompt.

STEP 5: Read the IMVU Creator agreement, then check the box next to I agree to the Creator Program Terms and Conditions. Then, click Agree.
STEP 6: Your Creator Dashboard main page will now appear. This is where you can view all your created products, projects, Tier Points, and your current Creator Level.
