Why did my product get re-rated?

A product that gets re-rated by staff has gone through our flagged products process. Users are able to flag a product if they believe it violates our Virtual Goods Policy. Products can be rerated from GA (General Audience) to AP (Access Pass) or UFI (Unfit for IMVU), or from AP to UFI. Common reasons why products are re-rated are as follows:

MCG Violation

These are clothing products that violate the Minimum Coverage Guidelines are Access Pass Only. Creators can test the MCG by using our Minimum Coverage skins [female: http://www.imvu.com/shop/product.php?products_id=1133635, male: http://www.imvu.com/shop/product.php?products_id=1133670]. After wearing the MCG skin and clothing product, test it by typing "mcg" within a room or clicking "MCG pose" within the Previewer. Your avatar will float in a "lotus pose" enabling you to view the clothing item from all angles.

Merchandising Violations

Taken from the Virtual Goods Policy: Product information pages must also adhere to the rules laid out in this Virtual Goods Policy. For the purposes of clarity, everything on the product information page – including, but not limited to, the product description, any image(s), keyword(s), and the product itself, are considered part of the product and thus affect a product’s rating. Merchandising for a product includes, but is not limited to: the product name, description, category, icon, and tags.

Many products are rerated from GA to AP for containing AP content as outlined in the VGP. Profanity in titles, tags, or description as well as nudity within the product icon and/or description results in an AP rating for products. Even if the product by itself adheres to a GA or AP rating, a product page containing AP or UFI material will be rerated accordingly.

Note that the final re-rating on a product will be determined by IMVU staff using the Terms of Service and Virtual Goods Policy.
