This is an important update for Grandfathered Creators.
In the announcement below we stated that starting July 1, 2023, all Earn Money Creators, including Grandfathered Creators, will be required to have either Platinum or Diamond VIP in order to be in the Earn Money Program and receive cash payouts.
(This requirement does not affect Grandfathered Creators who are subscribed to legacy VIP (from before Tiered VIP launched).
We realize this is a huge change for many Grandfathered Creators and have been closely following feedback regarding this new policy.
Based on your valuable input, we have come up with a solution that should make it easier for affected Creators to transition.
Details are as follows:
LINKED ACCOUNTS FOR GRANDFATHERED CREATORS
Starting July 1, 2023, Creators will be able to link three Grandfathered Creator accounts together, with only one VIP subscription.
Creators will choose one Grandfathered account for their VIP subscription, and two additional Grandfathered accounts that will not need VIP.
If a Creator already pays for Platinum or Diamond VIP on a non-Grandfathered account, they can apply it to two of their Grandfathered accounts.
All three linked accounts will be eligible for the Earn Money Program and payouts.
Once the accounts are linked, new earnings from these accounts will be combined into one MASA balance. Earnings from before the accounts are linked will not be combined.
Grandfathered accounts that are grouped with a VIP account will not need to apply for the Earn Money Program as long as they have already been approved to participate in the Earn Money Program prior.
Starting August 2023, earnings from the linked accounts can be set up to funnel into the VIP account.
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO LINK GRANDFATHERED ACCOUNTS
Here’s how to link a Platinum or Diamond VIP Grandfathered account with two additional accounts.
Make sure one of your Creator accounts has Platinum or Diamond VIP
Submit a help ticket to the Earn Money Program, requesting linked accounts. List an account that has VIP, and two Grandfathered accounts that do not have VIP.
If any of the linked accounts is not in the Earn Money Program, those account(s) will need to join to earn money and request a payout. All accounts will be able to apply to the Earn Money Program without a VIP subscription. However, you will not be able to earn money or request a payout until the account has a qualified VIP subscription or is linked to a Grandfathered account with a qualified VIP subscription.
Once the team receives your ticket (and your Earn Money application(s) if applicable), they will:
Check to make sure the accounts are owned by you
Confirm your Earn Money Program application has been accepted.
As soon as your accounts are approved, the team will link them together, so all three can be in the Earn Money Program with only one VIP subscription
ADDITIONAL BENEFIT - JULY ONLY
Between July 1 and July 30, Earn Money accounts with less than $50 can convert their balances into Credits. To receive Credits, send a help ticket to the Earn Money team.
Attention Creators - Starting July 1 Earn Money Payouts will require VIP
This is an important notice for Creators who are not signed up for VIP but still receive cash payouts in the Earn Money Program.
Starting July 1, 2023, all Earn Money Creators will be required to have either Platinum or Diamond VIP in order to receive cash payouts.
This does not include legacy Creators who signed up for VIP before the Tiered VIP system launched. They already have the equivalent of Platinum VIP and do not need to take any action.
CLARIFICATION:
Added 5/18/23: By "legacy Creators" we mean Grandfathered Creators. Grandfathered Creators without VIP will still be able to create, submit to their shop and earn Credits.
When this new requirement is introduced, Grandfathered Creators without VIP will still be able to create, submit to their shop and earn Credits.
Added 5/23/23 - You will not be able to earn cash or receive payouts unless you purchase Platinum or Diamond VIP. Once you join VIP you can earn cash and receive payouts. You will not lose existing cash balances. They will simply not be available without VIP.

not happy with this as i no longer use imvu but you still sell all my items on a constant so basically you want me to pay for services im not using so you can make money off all the years time and effort that i have spent making your company money. i also have masa funds which are now held hostage and cant be cashed out because i don't want to pay you for money earned . i'm pretty sure there is something not right here and i'm not okay with this.

Former words of Brett Durrett imvu late ceo IMVU is Much Deeper Than Most People Realize
I worked on products that made a meaningful difference in the lives of many customers. In my customer interviews, I talked to people that met their best friends, people that found their life partner, people that could only find acceptance for who they really are because their community was intolerant, people that found families and support groups, and people that just found a little delight in what IMVU provided.
IMVU also has Creators that make and sell content, and for some of these people IMVU provided everything from a little extra spending money to a full time job. I met a woman that covered her medical bills with the money she made as a Creator.
There are a lot of people in the world that are better off because of their experiences on IMVU.
How times have changed we helped build imvu and Brett was always grateful for help, he used to mingle with members in rooms. He was a good friend to many because he was trying to make imvu better. It only takes a bad ceo and bad decisions to destroy years of work.

I dont know why Empulse is not talking once in a while just to ensure we feel like we are being heard. I think there must be lots of stuff going on and they are thinking or they just completely abandoned us lol. I make very little money here even though I am an old creator. Every time one of my alts start selling a lot, I turn it into cash and all sales drop so that's not helping either. I am almost sure when you turn to cash from earning credits, your sales drop and that's made by IMVU. I heard that over and over and it happens to me over and over. So, I don't really expect much. I never ever reached my MASA but I am still here trying to help IMVU to help us creators in return. I worked hard here and never made good money but it is a little extra cash for me...
Yes, in this forum, we help each other. I didn't know we could buy cheaper VIP through chat, for example. Thank you so much for you all to talk about that here.
I think the biggest mistake of IMVU is making IMVU appeal to teenagers and kids. They are lots of adults here too yes, and there is AP yes but IMVU never advertises for adults. I never saw an ad in youtube or on tv about IMVU. I have no idea why they wouldn't do that. Youtube or tv advertisement would be the biggest gain for them. I really think IMVU is owned by rich guys as a side job or a hobby. They don't really care to make it better. They don't innovate. They either stay the same or get worse. The ads I see from IMVU in IMVU is always about dressing up. That's for little girls and teenagers which does not interest me at all. I am sure most adults don't care about dressing up either. So, I don't know where IMVU is going and how long it will last.
BUT they are asking us to pay VIP just shows IMVU is going down. VIP is expensive for me. I am Canadian. But if I were say idk from Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Thailand, Poland, Cuba, Chile, Mexico... basically any country outside USA and Canada, VIP is A LOT more expensive and not worth paying.
When I tried to request cash and I couldn't they sent me to this thread. When I heard about this new VIP, the first thing that came to my mind was IMVU is trying to get rid off A LOT of creators and IMVU is going down.

You lot have more faith than me requiring vip to get at earnings, with this shambles i couldn't trust this company any more. Its like investing your cash with a bank who promise you great returns for you to get zilch. They hand out a small morsel of hope with the understanding that they have been so good, and you should be grateful for it!!!!

I love your optimism. We have all suggested stuff, especially when this first got announced. We've been waiting months for any of those suggestions to be taken and anything being said to us about it. Multiple times we have suggested even a creator only VIP package. Rigs got these suggestions, EMpulse should have read those same suggestions. I'll have to agree with many other creators, seems VU just doesn't care anymore about us. Heck, we have QBL and many others helping other creators get the VIP for a year, walking them through the process. Mods are not modding.

Based upon the fact that Rigs took six weeks off for surgery and they couldn't be bothered to even fake having someone check in while she was gone I don't have that sort of faith this time around. In the past, yes, they have listened, but the last time that happened that was a different batch of executives. This most recent batch seem more like a comic book or movie cliche' of a bad corporation.

Some of us wrote ideas here and asked for options. I think they are reading those and taking them to the necessary people and those people will think about them and then EMpulse will come to tell us what is going to happen or not happen. Just give it a few days for them to think. Yes a lot of you are whining and not giving any ideas or solutions. Just relax and wait. Empulse must be reading all this but waiting for answers. She cant make any decision on her own. Her job is like a messenger. So just relax and wait and if you can't wait, open a support ticket and tell them what you think. I am waiting to see what happens. IMVU listens to us very often but you have to write your ideas and solutions or options. It helps them understand what we creators need. Most of my ideas got accepted by IMVU and got implemented. Sometimes I think I made IMVU rich but I am still poor myself. But they do listen if you come up with ideas they like. It just takes a long time for them implement things.

More importantly, making demands in here is about as productive as yelling into a closet at a plushie. If you really want to annoy them into answering, start making X accounts and spamming IMVU's X and other social media feeds. It would shock me to the core if any of the decision makers in VU had even thought about this sparkling new 'feature' since May, let alone actually read a single post in here.
