We would like to address the valid concerns that have been raised by our community regarding the implementation of IMVU's Minimum Coverage Guidelines (MCG). We highly appreciate your feedback and want to assure you that your voices are being heard. Your input is crucial in helping us create a more inclusive and transparent environment for both creators and users.
Clarification on MCG Implementation
We understand that some users are experiencing confusion about how to implement the MCG. Specifically, there are questions about the acceptability of using an MCG opacity map (mcg) wider than the red area. We are actively working on providing more detailed guidelines and examples to clarify this aspect.
Identifying Manipulated MCG/Body
To address concerns about identifying manipulated MCG or body shapes, we are exploring ways to improve our review and flagging processes. Our goal is to make the identification of non-compliant content more accurate and transparent.
Sample Compliant Bodies
We hear your request for sample bodies that conform to the MCG rules, especially on newer mesh bodies. We are actively working on providing these examples to ensure that creators have clear guidance.
Public Understanding and Peer Review
We acknowledge the need for clearer communication during peer reviews. We are committed to providing examples of compliant bodies and exploring standardized mcg skin coverage based on body sizes to enhance clarity and understanding during the review process.
Inconsistent Enforcement
We are aware of concerns about inconsistent enforcement of MCG guidelines. We are actively working to improve our processes to ensure fair and consistent enforcement across all products.
Personal Conflict in Flagging
We take your concerns about flagging seriously and will investigate any instances of unfair flagging. We are working on creating a more transparent and impartial flagging system.
Derived Products and Ratings
We are aware of the concerns surrounding derived products and how they are rated. We will explore ways to ensure that ratings are applied fairly and consistently.
Improved Communication and Collaboration
Finally, we want to emphasize our commitment to better communication and collaboration with the creator community. We value your input and will actively seek your feedback to improve our guidelines and enforcement processes.
We want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these concerns. Our aim is to create an environment where everyone can enjoy IMVU while adhering to guidelines that ensure a positive and safe experience for all.
Please continue to share your thoughts and suggestions with us, as they are invaluable in shaping the future of IMVU. Together, we can make IMVU a better place for all members of our community.
Update:We have updated the MCG section of the Creator Education Center with some additional details and clarification. An anchor has been made for easy access to the updated section. Please note that we'll continue to update this page as the ongoing internal/external conversation regarding MCG continues.
I think if women cleavage is being targeted, i think bulging pants should be addressed also i seen many that are ga that should be ap. I know this would probably be the look in real, but then wearing clothing that looks like grandmas coverage is like being in a Victorian age. Most young people are subject to viewing more flesh on a day out to the beach. These rules on this date back when imvu started. I hardly think a woman's cleavage is that offensive.

Hopeful for this not to be too much of an impact on products however ive seen where someone said this was caused by someone shrinking the mcg guidelines but for whatever reason this may be im hopeful imvu will have this all straightened out soon.

Unless imvu stop giving away so many free promotional credits you wont get many signing up for this, balance it out give more for doing peer review, that way developers benefit from it also by peer being passed also. When doing the test on peer give an incentive of promo credits on that. Make promo credits work for the whole community not just imvu joining program.

Just to add to this, every developer is responsible for their own shop, it is up to you to check your coverage, and again this would come under the peer review if it worked neither one would have got through as ga but flagged as ap.

The tier system is based on how much you churn out, all that does is make devs rush things and to mass produce one item. What ever happened to being unique. I think the word pro should represent knowledge. Once earned i think devs should be able to keep this badge, i mean how can you be pro one min then zero if you go away on holiday. The whole tier system should be looked into also.
Meshes also good devs who provide are so hard to find, Why not after their items are given a certificate skin coverage give them a platform here with a link to their shops, that way we can find them, at the moment it well known devs that are saved to go back to. How can we find these new meshers and give them boost.!!

Will we trust imvu i can honestly say no, with all that has gone on in the past we have heard it all seen it all, until we get solid rules laid out by imvu that any changes that are made in the future and developers will be compensated. Proof is in actions, we have had some staff members try and fight our side only for us to be disjointed with the outcome. You can talk the talk but can you walk the walk.

The skin coverage will never work unless imvu certificate the mesher that it has passed then the mesher can supply the skin coverage on the mesh. Until that happens doing mcg coverage in peer is useless and a farce.

I have just this to say, if peer review worked, if imvu stopped moving the goal posts, if new shapes and sizes were actually passed by imvu and certificated with a mcg body coverage themselves. When one flag is really enough to be viewed by imvu staff in peer, when imvu lure young people on with the very meshes that are now being targeted because they was passed and given the ok by staff.
When customer service staff who have very little knowledge on creating and skin coverage themselves and just pass on a generated copy and paste letter of no real value you will get problems!!
The whole set up of imvu is that the system and app is run by its members and because of this its members are the ones that get blamed. This is just a way for imvu to be clear of responsibilities while people who pay and join are the fall guys.
Till this is all addressed imvu will remain stagnant and will continue to have a bad reputation. We don't get paid by imvu to run the show but we can help and to do this you have to have respect for the people who have put tons of money into this and time! Value the developers and members who have seen all the mistakes and really listen to them, after all we should all be working for the same thing shouldn't we!!
Stop giving away so many free promotional credits, unless you give developers the an option to use them as the same value of true credits. Staff wouldnt like to have their wages halved for all their time and effort and i am sure the ceo wouldnt.
Make developers happy by making us happy we produce more items which in turn will make imvu more money, also by getting a better reputation of imvu you might then draw in more people, at the moment any where you look it is looked on as a very bad company.!!

As a creator for 16 years with IMVU I have found many things wrongly rated in peer review, when I fail the product it goes back into the circulation of peer review, and 9 out 10 times an inexperienced reviewer doesn't know what to look for therefor passes an AP product as GA, I would suggest that IMVU has it so once failed it stays that way until reviewed by an Imvu staff member hence not marking that the viewer who failed it has it marked as Incorrect on their end hence passing it to customers who can not use the product without an AP. sure would fix a lot of issues. To those creators who slightly change the color red to something to another red are giving the creators who play by the rules a bad name! You Need To STOP!

The new puzzle that pops up now and then is notb helping to speed up peer. The old one with the spiral was easy, just click the spiral. Now you need 3-4 clicks to get the goat or pig in the right direction. This is not funny at all. It feels like IMVU wants to delay peer review on purpose.
@Yuuasa The police robot is a different issue which has nothing to do with MCG. I have made a post about that in the general Bugs and Issues forum. So far without response. My posts are often blocked in chat rooms while I don't say anything improper. I could not say that I had my oak tree cut down, and other normal things that happen irl. Nothing obscene. The chat bot needs some education.
