We would like to address the valid concerns that have been raised by our community regarding the implementation of IMVU's Minimum Coverage Guidelines (MCG). We highly appreciate your feedback and want to assure you that your voices are being heard. Your input is crucial in helping us create a more inclusive and transparent environment for both creators and users.
Clarification on MCG Implementation
We understand that some users are experiencing confusion about how to implement the MCG. Specifically, there are questions about the acceptability of using an MCG opacity map (mcg) wider than the red area. We are actively working on providing more detailed guidelines and examples to clarify this aspect.
Identifying Manipulated MCG/Body
To address concerns about identifying manipulated MCG or body shapes, we are exploring ways to improve our review and flagging processes. Our goal is to make the identification of non-compliant content more accurate and transparent.
Sample Compliant Bodies
We hear your request for sample bodies that conform to the MCG rules, especially on newer mesh bodies. We are actively working on providing these examples to ensure that creators have clear guidance.
Public Understanding and Peer Review
We acknowledge the need for clearer communication during peer reviews. We are committed to providing examples of compliant bodies and exploring standardized mcg skin coverage based on body sizes to enhance clarity and understanding during the review process.
Inconsistent Enforcement
We are aware of concerns about inconsistent enforcement of MCG guidelines. We are actively working to improve our processes to ensure fair and consistent enforcement across all products.
Personal Conflict in Flagging
We take your concerns about flagging seriously and will investigate any instances of unfair flagging. We are working on creating a more transparent and impartial flagging system.
Derived Products and Ratings
We are aware of the concerns surrounding derived products and how they are rated. We will explore ways to ensure that ratings are applied fairly and consistently.
Improved Communication and Collaboration
Finally, we want to emphasize our commitment to better communication and collaboration with the creator community. We value your input and will actively seek your feedback to improve our guidelines and enforcement processes.
We want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these concerns. Our aim is to create an environment where everyone can enjoy IMVU while adhering to guidelines that ensure a positive and safe experience for all.
Please continue to share your thoughts and suggestions with us, as they are invaluable in shaping the future of IMVU. Together, we can make IMVU a better place for all members of our community.
Update:We have updated the MCG section of the Creator Education Center with some additional details and clarification. An anchor has been made for easy access to the updated section. Please note that we'll continue to update this page as the ongoing internal/external conversation regarding MCG continues.
Your best course of action is to make sure when making icons and product images for that kini you use a human skin underneath.
That way the average consumer (who is sadly not as smart as we think) cannot mistake them for being nekked or being some kind of ap loophole.
I know that's stupid to have to do that, but its one of the only work arounds I've seen.

Ive had 3 items flagged as Ap and it wasnt a easy switch to make the items Ap from Ga it wasnt just a edit and done i had to contact imvu directly and have them change the item for me because peer review would not exept the edited rating of the item. This is something that needs to be adressed if we cant easiely edit the items and send back through peer review it makes it more work for everone

In the spin it is hard to know if it is ga or ap, and it should be made were most are all ga and if you want to purchase ap you can. Just saying

The easiest and cheapest fix for this is someone needs to have body mesh creators send in their main maps for correction andapproval before it is even published.
This is my simple solution to this issue. probably add this to the live chat:
Case category:
'Creator support'
Topic:
'APPROVE MCG MESH'
Any other way may be too confusing for everyone.
What do u think?
It's best to leave maps as is once it has thousands of derives.... it may mess up the store completely, kind of like if it's not broken don't fix it.

Yes I agree. I've had this problem recently, where an item in my room suddenly disapeared bc it was changed to AP. I bought it in GA and i put it in a GA room, it only makes sense to give an immediate refund if it was changed to AP. I cannot use this item in my GA room anymore so there is no use for the item. This issue does need to be fixed, I would like to be refunded for the item bc I spend my REAL money to buy things in this game, so it's not fair to CHANGE the item after I've bought it. Isn't that a form of scamming? The item was expensive as well.

@NizhoniCatori A simple online chat with customer service will get hair that has probably accidentally rated as AP turned into GA. Same with eyes.

I derived from a creator who's outfit was ga and then I derived from them. I then was flagged by IMVU that it did not meet the guidelines of ga. Imvu staff punished me for the Creator that made the product that I derived from and would not allow me to either get my credits back or to reach out to that creator. Their product is still GA to this day yet mine was flagged for being GA because of one small tiny little red spot. I have tried to reach out to the Creator haven't heard anything.. and Imvu stop says there's nothing they can do. Which I find not fair because I derived from a creator that failed MCG guidelines and they will not take their products down but yet mine was taken down. I don't feel that it's fair that when creators derive from another Creator and their product doesn't meet the guidelines that Imvu stop punishes the person who's driving from the person who doesn't meet the guidelines and refuses to change theirs or reach out to the Creator who failed the MCG guidelines to have them change their product to AP.

I think on imvu discover not a lot of small creators get a chance on there. Plus with the top edit Tuesday not a lot of people use apps to create the same pictures again & again.it gets quite annoying seeing the same pictures each week. I think it’s unfair as a lot of creators such as “small creators” again don’t have a chance and they should! Plus I’ve noticed things have changed with the skins & they don’t match at all. Please fix this.

@Mimilovest The exact opposite is true. Kids have always been on IMVU. It wasn't until the whiney kids complained about not being able to use the word *uck or flip the bird as they do irl in regular conversation (which is vulgar & stipl considered swearin). Imvu finally allowed that to be GA even tho in the real world it cannot be in shows or movies without being bleeped out or get a GA16 warning. Once tge kids found out they "won" that argument they started complaining about how it wasn't fair they had to make at least 3000 items before making pro status. So then imvu changed to the worthless tier system & now kids are just flooding the catty with Zero Change Derives. This is Imvu's mess. Let them clean it up. They brought it on themselves. Aka they made their bed, now they can lay in it.

Stop making things like hair AP why would a simple ponytail be AP? Or the inability to change something thats AP to GA? I have made the mistake of making hair AP and wasnt able to change? Eyes are another one for those there are no point in making them AP at all. Not one of these items have I ever gone 'that needs to be AP' Make things make sense please the rating for GA and AP needs a more specific guideline on exactly is needed from us. At the moment its like we are doing this blinded and having our products flagged for what purpose? Creators spend many hours some even days creating the very best they can for it to be reported. Something needs to be changed and soon so many of the older creators are giving up. Too many items are being duplicated with zero alterations and they pass peer review no issue? Dont get me wrong but isnt that considered stealing? A LOT needs to be addressed but guess the proof will be in the pudding as they say. I will not believe anything till I see it for myself.

there used to be a clause in TOS that specifically said no skin tone bikinis, I don't see that anymore but the issue was, that what is skin tone on me is just another bikini on someone else. and what difference does it make if it doesn't explicitly show in detail the AP areas?
