When I import the armature & the clothing file from Blender to IMVU Studio/Classic Create mode, gaps show up around the neck and wrist areas. I didn't modify the neck at all in Blender, so it should fit perfectly with the head. This happens with both the original female mannequin and the new 1.5 version. Is there a specific way to export a clothing file so that I don't get these gaps?

@Insoo If you'd like, you can email the blender file to studio@imvu.com and I will check it out and see if I can find any issues

In the images I shared earlier, the neck's weighting on the torso looks correct. So, the problem doesn't seem to be related to the weighting. Also, if I don't bind the upper body (neck and waist) to the armature, it doesn't get imported at all, as you can see in the attached image. I'd really appreciate your help in looking into this issue further.

Gotcha, then the weighting on the head doesn't matter, but the weighting on the neck of the torso has to match the neck so it moves the same. If it is not perfect, it won't line up in IMVU.
When I say move without clicking setup, I meant bind to armature.

I'm not trying to export a head, just a top. So, I've only put the top in the CLOTHING_EXPORT collection. The other items on my avatar in the second picture, like the mesh head and skin, are unrelated items that were made and published separately.
Sorry but I'm not sure what "moving it without clicking setup" means, as I can't find a setup button.
I don't know how to access skin paint mode, but in the "weight paint" scene, both the head and neck's connecting part appear blue, which is the default setting. I haven't painted it differently or moved any neck vertices.
Sometimes I've managed to export a top without gaps by trial and error, but I can't remember how I did it before.

@Insoo Are you exporting the upper body in the same manor that you are the head? If so it's the same process of moving it without clicking setup. And making sure the skin weighting is correct. If you go into skin paint mode from a fresh blender scene where all you do is import the clothing scene, you can check how the weighting should be. As long as the weights are correct and the vertices aren't moved. It should work. If it doesn't, we can troubleshoot further
