I was alerted to a problem with how some of my shoes appear in the old client - the stockings which have a black texture in the opacity slot are showing up.

I don't have the old client and they don't look like that in either Studio or in the Desktop app. And apparently it's not just this pair of shoes but multiple that look like this in the old client (PID for the one the customer alerted me to: https://www.imvu.com/shop/product.php?products_id=63677566)

The settings in Studio are correct, so I'm at a loss.

@Drosselmeyer Any idea when will the opacity issues between the two platforms be fixed? This has also been an issue with a makeup product that doesn't work in the old client at all. But at least with that one, it's not a complete mess.

Obviously I can't go through all my items to check (and shouldn't have to since I did it correctly in the first place), and even if I could I can't since I work on a mac.

:o( Sorry you have this.

Yes, a friend of mine had the issue of no comparison to the old Classic Client.

He went to a Pawn Shop and bought a cheap/old Laptop with Win 7 on it. LOL Uses it to load up the old Classic Create Mode.

In the beginning, the Studio was released only to Mac Users. I did the reverse, I bought (later sold) an older MAC so I could get familiar with IMVU Studio. :/

I know many people are limited to expenses... Just a thought :)

I can't check on Classic - I'm on a mac and don't have access to the old client at all. Someone else alerted me to the issue and sent me the screenshot. I'll have to see once it's gone back through PR if I can get another screenshot

Just for "fun" and while waiting... What happens when you do as bro. Drosselmyere recommended but then, set the Alpha Threshold to .6 instead of .5

Clear the cache as usual and check again the Classic. Any difference, @SirenaRoga ?

Thanks for testing...

Yes, for sure matching the right meshes together is what is needed to avoid "breaking the mesh" - this has basically always been the case since meshers started making different body shapes.

The issue I'm having is that in this product, the stockings shouldn't be appearing at all (broken or not) which is a problem between how the old and new clients handle the opacity of the product.

@SirenaRoga, This "should" have been fixed in the client, but it looks like there may be another edge case. The issus is for materials ID 12 and 13 the flag 'AlphaThreshold' was not present. The solution was to just toggle 'Use Blending' twice and the flag was added with the default value of 0.5. I will write this bug up.

Yes, it is a big mess. Would it be a good idea for one of the master clothing meshers to start a new line of stockings with "matching shoes" that work mix and match? Others would follow suit and make shoes to work with the new standards. Some old mesh; made back in 1962, will not conform to the newer (or new older) clients. Way back when, it was "Hey, anything is better than nothing". LOL Now it is scalers, tons of sub-mesh and opacity - City!

Time for New Universal Mesh to flood the market! :D

I don't think that you can do much about this. It depends how the mesh was made. It usually happens when people use butt scalers or leg scalers. The legs get too wide to fit the mesh. Obviously the mesh does not follow the skin.

Not too sure how to fix this, however, I do know some texture layers need both the diffusion and the opacity to be the same size. For me it’s a shot in the dark I’m not a measure.
