Is anyone else seeing a drastic drop in sales over the last couple of months? I'm down by $1-200 a fortnight on what I used to earn. This is way more than usual fluctuations. I'm worried.

@jazzkat i think many with disposable time go hand in hand with disposable income, most people with disposable income have actually i think got to a point where they are comfortable be it in a good job running a company or have families that have moved out and now have free time on their hands. This group as far as i know are the older generation.

From a business perspective, Users with disposable income are not nearly as valuable as those with disposable time, especially where the latter far out-number the former (if IMVU marketing is to be believed) and can be readily monetised through other means. THAT is what we're dealing with here as creators, a complete paradigm shift in who and how IMVU is being used. Moving to other platforms won't address this either, they're just going to see the problem manifest in a slightly different way based on their particular mechanics.

Don't forget they used to give real credits in offers instead of promo ones. Everything is promo, and trying to get mobile users hooked, the best possible experience for imvu is the client until the desktop is as good as the client i think imvu will have these issues of people joining and leaving and just ditching accounts to make new ones to play without really spending much. But if they continue with the road they are going they will also lose most of the brilliant hard working devs, unless they have something up their sleeve because devs have bills to pay also. Earn money and become a dev they are always pushing for this but you have got to keep your devs happy also. Would they like a reduction in wages each time they looked at their pay checks, well that is what is happening to devs and they have always been the last ones to count because we are disposable......... because their are always others to fill the role.

They've been so gung-ho about appealing to the youngsters they've forgotten the people who spend the real money aren't playing dress-up on their phones. I used to belong to a couple of groups with hundreds of members over 40 years old. Those folks are settled with disposable incomes, or a budget set aside specifically for IMVU whereas the late teens and early 20s folks don't spend hours shopping, decorating, and spending money. They get promo credits, spend those and then head for the hills. IMVU lost a lot of users when the client stopped working on Macs and the new desktop client isn't even close to being a sufficient replacement. And now that I'm looking elsewhere for my entertainment I've discovered a lot more people than I realized had already left IMVU or were spending the majority of their time elsewhere and they've taken their money with them. People who can't get out and have a real social life (or much of one) are the ones IMVU should have been focusing on...they're the ones who spend the money to be here because their friends are here.

I think personally they are hiring a certain amount of people for 3-4 months and then different people the next 3-4 I don’t think it’s just one creator every 3-4 months that wouldn’t make sense.

I am afraid most people who get hired to a higher position becomes one of the group and forgets where s/he came from. So, I don't trust any creators to get into residence program and then think about creators and their situations. Especially if only 1 creator is hired. It's a useless attempt if this is meant for new ideas for IMVU.

If they are giving a lot of free credits and promotions, it means IMVU is not making much money by selling credits which means they are losing customers so they are offering free food to gain costumers. Result: IMVU is not doing well itself. So, if we are not doing well in selling our products, it means IMVU doesn't have enough customers. I don't think IMVU is going down, it just means less people are interested in IMVU. I just hope it's something that will pass. Perhaps, IMVU is hiring creators for this residence program to change somethings. However, I think they are hiring only 1 person for 3-4 months and that won't change much of anything. They need to hire around 20-50 hard working and knowledgeable creators to make any change.

They're charging more for credits but creators aren't getting a higher percentage and creators are covering their advertising by way of eating the promo credits. And people wonder why I consider anyone who's working with IMVU to be sleeping with the enemy...

And here is where the problem i, pushing mobile while giving a whooping 7000 free credits, so they make an account pay for maybe a vip tier with a few real creds but then get this offer. Why bother to pay for any more with this deal. Then just go and do the offers and get more promo creds.
I have already cast my vote for you in a couple of ways. . .
I think you would be great. The cutoff date was the 22nd ;(
Maybe next time :D

When IMVU was looking for Unity developers they and partners dropped $150,000 in prize money.. then canceled the project. More recently IMVU has blown millions on Crypto and NFT, which I have been following closely as I intend to start rocking up at events IMVU is speaking at.
