Peer Review Enforcement Update

We’ve updated our approach to Peer Review enforcement. In most standard circumstances where Peer Review violations occur, privileges will no longer be permanently revoked. Most violations that previously resulted in a permanent ban will now result in a 30-day suspension.

After the 30-day period, Peer Review access will be restored automatically. Accounts that are currently banned from Peer Review are in the process of being restored.

We’re continuing to focus closely on Peer Review and plan to make additional improvements as we gather feedback. Thanks to everyone who continues to participate in Peer Review and help maintain its quality.

@Petrazzenka I honestly really appreciate your stance on boosting motivation for us to do more peer reviews.  Before imvu fixed their site to make it much harder for people to use bots to pass peer reviews for them, pr was a fast dream come true. I really want to get back to that speedy flow but without the bots.

One issue I see with boosting the predits rewards for doing each pr, is that most creators on here actually hate predits with an unholly passion. They don't feel like they're profiting from customers using them as a means to pay. But many also feel their shop doesn't get enough circulation for potential customers to find them. The Native Ads are the only thing creators can use their predit profits on, and they're very expensive... it doesn't help the average creator at all, only those who have saved up to want to invest, or creators who are already popular and want to continue staying on top.

I think it would be great to reward people with more predits for their peer reviews, but I'd like to see the sales from those predits help out the average creator more, instead of just mostly devs who don't really appreciate it.

I'm trying to think lol

What if the reward stays the same for those who don't do it often, BUT the reward increases once a person does a certain amount? Maybe entering a margin would create a better structure goal for folks to reach for? Make it a little more interesting.

Would also be nice to have some help from the community. If imvu can make levels to split peer reviewers and grant them profile shields to see which amount category they've been in the last month and get to show that off, other creators can actually thank them for their support without them having to say anything (which could be embarrassing to the many here who are very shy). I like this actually, more shields the better, I notice many love them here.

@Petrazzenka

I've been using "Lightshot" to take quick screenshots, which I love because it's fast and has editing features right on the spot, so I don't need to take it to another program.

My only issue with this is that their drawing features are very thin, so it takes a long while to properly hide names and stuff we don't want to share. If anyone has a better fast app like this that provides thicker drawing features, I think we could share it and help folks make it easier on themselves to hide things when posting here.

After reading your comment and looking at the screenshots you provided I recognized one of the names of the developers that can be seen at the bottom of the product shop icon.

I have seen the name of that same developer numerous times before on screenshots of product shop icons. Screenshots taken of peer review history reports that others have provided in the past when they made complaints in the forums about getting banned from peer review.

I am unsure it's a good idea to publicly post screenshots of product shop icons when the names of the developers can be seen; especially if those screenshots are potentially incriminating evidence. It can amount to defamation of character if such developers are later found innocent.

Such screenshots should be partly censored if publicly posted so you don't risk getting in trouble. That could be done by posting special copies of the original screenshots. Those special copies would have the developer's name blackened out. The original uncensored screenshots would only be used when filing help tickets sent to IMVU Customer Service to build a case against such developers.

There seems to something fishy going on with peer review when it comes to folk whom get banned from peer review for failing products that clearly are UFI; Unfit For IMVU.

Things are getting really ridiculous here. Below is the ticket information I submitted after chat support told me that they could not tell me why I was ban, what I did wrong on which item. I included screenshots of my stats at the time and today and the items. They're so inconsistent and don't support their own guidelines.

I was incorrectly ban from doing peer review on May 2, 2026. The ban happened immediately after I failed a pair of sunglasses labeled as White Pride that had the Swastika on them. I failed them under the Discrimination option of failure which specifically lists "Neo Nazi".
At that point in time I had over 500 items reviewed in the last 30 days with only 1 labeled as incorrect. That 1 was the sunglasses that the system automatically said I was wrong on.  I have attached screenshots of everything that day that I could. And then the chat transcript with support today and 2 additional screenshots of my peer review as of 5-6-26. It now shows I have 3 wrong items marked. One has the image of a woman participating in an oral sexual act and/or having something between her bare breasts on the image cover. I don't remember what the actual item was now. But that image alone should be failed per your peer review guidelines for nudity and sexual activity. The other item I don't remember if I passed or failed it, but you're claiming it was wrong. My guess is that I failed the item because it had a pose on it that had a sexual act clearly occurring, but I cannot verify that at this point.

Your Chat Support says it cannot give me any other information except to say that I may have passed an item that was clearly wrong.  That doesn't make any sense, nor would they tell me what it was I marked wrong. They claimed they did not have access to that information. But I find that an unlikely scenario given that it was an immediate ban after I failed the sunglasses.

How can I improve my peer review ability if you cannot actually show me what I did that was wrong, provide me with the evidence so I can learn from it. What item was it? Show me how my rating was wrong. Let me see if I remember it or make my case so you can explain to me why I was wrong and then ban from peer review for 30 days.

The only way products can get passed in peer review more quickly than they currently do is if more folk peer review products.

The reason why not many folk are motivated to use their time and effort to peer review products is because they only earn 5 promo credits per product they review.

5 Promo credits is worth less than 5 real credits. 1,000 real credits is worth 1 US Dollar if one buys credits when there isn't any discount; which no one does. Realistically 1,000 real credits is worth 40% less than $1 to 45% less than $1 or $0.55 to $0.60 which makes 5 real credits worth 0.5% or 1/200 of $0.55 to $0.60 which amounts to $0.00275 to $0.003. The value of 5 real credits is a small fraction of 1 cent and 5 promo credits is worth even less.

If IMVU would pay a fair wage then more folk might get motivated to peer review products. That wage would need to be competitive with the real life minimum wage minus taxes of the country where someone lives.

More Developers need to raise awareness that folk are not being paid enough to review products.

3rd Update: A few days ago my last product which was in Peer Review longer than a month was finally approved and ever since all my products have been approved relatively fast the same day. BUT the moment I submitted another Male pants again it has gotten stuck in Peer Review purgatory. Apparently IMVU has a glitch in its system (at least in my particular case) where Male bottoms remain invisible to Peer Reviewers? My product is "David Martinez pants CPE" Product74611143.cfl .

2nd Update: Yesterday I received this message from IMVU Official: "Your product Himmel pants & boots has passed peer review. It is now available for sale in the catalog." There is one small problem: that's the wrong product since that particular one passed Peer Review 3 YEARS AGO!!! LOL The product that is still in Peer Review limbo (30 days and counting) is the "Kraft the Monk pants"Product74207547.cfl. Can this be addressed properly...uh, before the end of this century?

Thank you.

Update: After submitting a ticket and voicing my complains here 17 days ago, 3 out of the 5 male products in Peer Review limbo were finally approved 2 days ago. However the last two are still pending and in 2 days will reach 30 days without been approved. Other recent products have been approved faster, though. Faster than usual. But those remaining two are apparently in the IMVU Twilight Zone.

@Kuvi

I agree with you but on the otherhand, many creators hate it when customers buy from their shop with promo cr because they don't get to earn profits from their work with those, they just turn into "dev tokens". Maybe if imvu would consider making "dev tokens" more valuable to creators, we could encourage more promo cr usage.

oh, sound products are very hard for peer review, I believe it's because only classic imvu users can hear them. Since many new members are not using classic, I could imagine that they may be skipping sound products. In the past, I've tried introducing classic to new users, but they didn't like it, which got me curious as to what was so enticing about the new apps and try harder to learn them, so now I'm more use to them.

@xValexGripx

I've noticed that even when I do 20 or even more peer reviews, if I do them after I've submitted my products, it takes very long for my items to pass through peer review (up to one week). But if I do many peer reviews before I submit my new products, then my new products I submit later come out of peer review much faster (within the same day I submit my new items up to 3 days).

I haven't tested yet by doing many peer reviews in one day then submitting my new products right after though. I've only noticed this by doing peer reviews regularly throughout 2 weeks then submitting my new products at the end of that time.

I submit to Peer Review willingly, even when I wasn’t VIP. I love to help the Community, but I feel failed because I keep doing PR, but me as a new Creator (this my first month), my items are taking so long to get approved. Not a single item has been approved yet. Please look into this & approve my items. Thanks!

I too have my issues with Peer Review. Currently I have 5 male products that are still in IMVU purgatory (for weeks!). No matter if I spend hours daily doing peer review those products don't move from limbo. It is frustrating as each of these products are part of cosplay sets that renders the ones approved as incomplete and useless for the main purpose. I will stop doing Peer Reviews until ALL those products get approved. I am also considering stopping developing products until this problem is fixed.

Speaking of Peer Review I have had my own issues with getting things through peer, 1 item has been in peer since february and another I submitted earlier this month and yet still have not gone through. They are Voice Boxes that I have done all the work on myself. I have had others in and through no problem Why is there an inconsistency with the system Like I am having. its rather annoying to have things in for over a month yet other vbs Ive done gone through no issue.

yes while on the topic of peer review how can we be expected to reviw products we cannot see at close range .also we need a window and water to put the item behind to  test that it is still GA. that is your fault imvu for not providing the right equpment.
