Stronger Separation Between GA and AP in Private Rooms

We’ve made an update to strengthen the separation between General Audience (GA) and Access Pass (AP) experiences in private rooms. Previously, when GA users were invited to a private room containing AP content, they could still join the room but would see the shimmer effect instead of the user’s avatar.

With this update, GA users will no longer be able to enter private rooms that contain AP content.

In addition, this update further reinforces GA and AP boundaries in other situations. Users wearing AP products will not be able to invite GA users, and users wearing AP content will not be able to join GA public rooms.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and consistent experience across the community.

The new update is totally unfair, what's the point of paying to have AP if we still have to put up with this bullshit that we can't use AP stuff in GA rooms? If things don't change beyond mass immigration, I deduce that there will be other, much worse, problems. "Imvu staff advise you to delete this update and go back to how it was before."

This change will likely backfire. Many AP users wear items like voice boxes or accessories all the time. Forcing them to take these items off every time they enter a GA room is frustrating and ruins the experience.

The current system already works perfectly: GA users cannot see or hear AP products anyway. Forcing these new rules won't make GA users buy AP; it will just make them frustrated enough to leave the platform. Please reconsider this.

I’d also like to add that people who use the IMVU desktop or mobile app see this glitch. However, there are still people who use the old client and therefore don’t have this problem. Above all, I think it’s terrible that you can’t log into your own room even when you have AP enabled.(?)

This update has made it to where myself or guest can not change clothes in any of my private rooms, whether a GA room or a AP room. this isn't acceptable! I'm in my AP room wearing AP even alone and I can't change clothes... [Moderated]

That’s really bold what you’ve done with this update.

First of all: we’ve all paid for this; many of us spend money every month and put it into VU so you can keep running this platform.

Second: You’re preventing communication—or rather, forcing users who own AP to wear only GA items just to talk to people and friends who don’t own AP!!!

Third: Does it even matter if I remove all my AP products? The outfit is still saved as AP anyway—what’s the point?

Yes, you have to address complaints—that’s how it should be—but take back this damn update! You’re dividing the community and friends with it!

The new update is absolutely terrible.
Now I can’t even enter my own rooms because I’m wearing a lot of AP accessories (which, in my opinion, don’t even need AP) and GA clothing. Does that mean I have to set all my rooms to AP? And does that mean I can’t even invite people who don’t have AP?
I understand that you’re taking other complaints into account and making adjustments accordingly. But in my opinion, this update is a step backward.

And I know that many feel the same way and may even decide to leave or stop supporting IMVU because of it.

i find it unfair can you at least let room owners be able to change into AP in their own clubs and not take it away all together your making vu boring just because a few complaints or watever now everyone that likes wearing ap in non ap rooms will have to turn their clubs to ap so they can so unfair
