I’m writing as a follow-up regarding the recent announcement about the discontinuation of music services in IMVU Classic due to the termination of your partnership with Vervelife.

While I understand that this decision may be outside of IMVU’s direct control, the outcome significantly affects users who invested substantial credits into music products that are now unusable. This is not the first disruption of this kind, and the recurrence raises concerns about the long-term reliability of purchased digital content on the platform.

At this point, I would like to request clear and direct answers regarding the following:

1. Compensation Scope: Will refunds or credit reimbursements apply to all previously purchased music products that are no longer functional, rather than only recent purchases?

2. Ownership and Value Protection: What measures will IMVU implement to ensure that user investments in digital goods are protected from similar losses in the future?

3. Alternative Solutions: Will IMVU provide a replacement system that allows users to restore or transfer their music experience in a meaningful way?

Given that users made purchases in good faith with the expectation of continued access, limiting compensation to recent transactions does not fully address the loss experienced by long-term customers.

I respectfully ask for a transparent and comprehensive response, as well as a fair resolution that reflects the scale of user investment and the importance of this feature within the community.

Long-Time Creator & User Concerns About IMVU’s Direction

I’ve been on IMVU for over 18 years. Maybe not on this account specifically, but I’ve invested nearly two decades into this platform—as a user, creator, and customer. I’ve spent thousands of dollars over the years supporting IMVU, and I’m writing because many long-time members feel ignored.

One of the biggest current issues is music. We’ve dealt with this before when music content disappeared years ago, and now it feels like history is repeating itself. Users are reporting music endlessly loading or not working at all. Many of us paid real money and credits for music through IMVU, yet now there’s no clear way to prove ownership because even the music tabs and records of purchases have changed or disappeared.

Rooms without music lose activity. People don’t stay. Music creates atmosphere, and without it, room owners and creators receive complaints from visitors about products they purchased that no longer function as expected. As creators, our names are attached to those products even when platform changes break them.

This isn’t only about music. It’s about a larger pattern of control over creators and users:

• Features are removed or changed without adequate transparency.
• Older products stop functioning due to platform decisions.
• Creator payout requirements and Diamond/VIP expectations are not always clearly communicated.
• Earnings and credits feel heavily controlled despite creators generating income for the platform.
• Support options have become increasingly limited; many of us remember when we could speak with actual representatives.
• Forum concerns often feel dismissed, redirected, or closed rather than addressed.

Creators and buyers built this platform. Without creators producing content and users purchasing it, IMVU would not be what it is today. Long-time members increasingly compare IMVU to other virtual worlds because they feel unheard.

I’m also concerned about the overall direction of the platform. The content environment appears far more adult-focused than in earlier years, while moderation standards seem inconsistent compared to how accounts were treated in the past. This creates confusion about expectations and community standards.

Many veteran users have noticed lower engagement and fewer active users than years ago. Whether that perception is accurate or not, it reflects a concern: people leave when they no longer feel valued.

I’m asking IMVU to genuinely listen to long-term members and creators regarding:

1. Transparency about purchased music and unavailable content
2. Better communication before major platform changes
3. Fair treatment and support for creators
4. Improved payout clarity and creator policies
5. Stronger customer support options
6. Consistent moderation and clearer standards
7. More consideration for preserving creator products and investments

I’m frustrated because I care about this platform. I’ve spent years creating, buying, and contributing here. Long-time users want IMVU to succeed—but success requires listening to the people who helped build the community.

" you can now listen to your fav music in your room with everyone !! bla bla bla !!! "  oh yeah... side not. it only works on windows. " // Jesus,  do you people even read what you are posting ? So you can not listen to your fav music because its a radio station that decides what songs are going to play so it is NOT MY fav music. and NO you can not listen to music with everyone because its only for windows computers. I can not host an event with theme and themed music because i can NOT play MY music. The links dont even work on that player SMH and when i did find one that worked it was stupid music with a lot commercials and i was the only one that heard it !!!!!! No one else could joing in it didnt work for them. SO THEY LEFT the room.  Now my rooms are EMPTY ! People always complimented me for my mysic i had tons ! something for everyone. They even asked me to park and put my mixes on when i had to leave imvu to go sleep or whatever. So i parked in a DJ booth spot and put a few mixes on with like 150 songs in each mix. and when i came back it was still playing and people still dancing and having fun in the room and new people came in too and STAYED and became regulars or even close friends. NOW PEOPLE COME IN AND LEAVE !!!! or just sit there and dont say nothing. NOBODY DANCES ANYMORE. THE VIBE IS GONE. WHY WOULD YOU GO INTO A DANCE CLUB IF YOU CANT HEAR MUSIC AND THE SAME MUSIC AS EVERYONE ELSE IN THE ROOM ?? WHY WOULD YOU GO INTO A DANCE SPOT IF YOU CANT HEAR MUSIC ?????? WHY WOULD I GO INTO A DJ BOOTH SPOT IF I CANT PLAY MY MUSIC AND EVEN IF I CAN GET IT TO WORK ITS NOT ME SELECTING THE SONGS AND PLAYING THE MUSIC ???????? I CAN DELETE ALL THE DJ BOOTH SPOTS AND FURNI THEY ARE OF NO USE ANYMORE. I CAN DELETE ALL DANCE POSES THEY ARE OF NO USE ANYMORE NOBODY GOES IN THEM ANYMORE SINCE YOU STOLE AND TOOK MY MUSIC MIXES !! I CAN DELETE ALL MY DANCE CLUB ROOMS BECAUSE THERE IS NO MUSIC !!!! PEOPLE COME IN LOOK AROUND AND POOF LEAVE !!! NOW ALL MY ROOMS ARE EMPTY AND NOBODY COMES TO THEMED PARTY'S AND EVENTS ANYMORE THAT I HOSTED. NOT EVEN PC EVENTS ( SO WE ARENT BOTHERED BY MOBILE PHONE KIDS ) ONLY A FEW SEND MESSAGE FOR INVITE TO PC AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES THEY LEFT BECAUSE THERE IS NO VIBE NO MUSIC . YOU KILLED THAT IMVU. YOU AND NOBODY ELSE. YOU KILLED MY ROOMS MY EVENTS MY PARTYS MY DANCE POSES MY ROOMS ARE USELESS NOW AND EMPTY. THANSK AGAIN FOR TAKING AWAY SOMETHING THAT ALLREADY HALF WORKED MOST OF THE TIME LATELY AND INSTEAD OF FIXING IT DELETING IT TOTALLY AND GIVING US SOMETHING IN RETURN THAT DOESNT WORK AT ALL !!!!!!!!!!!! GIVE ME MY MUSIC BACK THAT I PAYED FOR. AND ALL MY MIXES THAT I PUT TOGETHER. IN ORDER AND THEMED ., I WANT EVERY LAST SONG BACK AND ALL MY MIXES PUT BACK IN THE WAY I MADE THEM. OR GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK  . 

We're all very frustrated over the removal of our music. It took years and $$$ to build. That said, the music as we knew it \, is gone. Let's move on. I have been using GotRadio.com for years when not playing my mixes. They have a broad selection of stations, but you do have to put up with the occasional commercial. I cancelled Sirius in my truck and on my Harley in favor of something that's free. There is an app for your vehicle, or you can use blue tooth it in.

I've noticed when you look up stations to use, not all links will work. You just gotta keep trying until you find one that works.  I really miss my mixes tho, cause there are certain rooms that have a particular vibe that I just can't recreate with a radio playing random music, also I had songs from years ago once forgotten, I would hear from people that they "haven't heard that song in forever"....the radio stations only play more current songs and artists unless your lucky enough to find a decent station to play the kind of music you need.

For some people the radio does not shut off when they leave the room.  One friend has to restart her laptop just to turn it off.

They didn’t just add a useless radio feature. They completely removed the original music store and shut down the mix player. Vustagram wins again.

Thanks for nothing IMVU!!! Your links to streaming radio in the forum can't be heard by anyone but me in my rooms!!!! I can't get any streaming links to work at all!!! If I don't get at least some credits back from all the songs I bought, NO MATTER WHEN I BOUGHT THEM, I will be leaving this mess you have created!!!!

Another useless tool that dont work and that we didnt ask for, thanks VU for again killing the fun, the crap stations that do work i wouldn't play at my goldfish's funeral

Thanks IMVU. The link to search for stations does not work in my state and now our mixes are gone. I guess no more music for me.
