How to Change Your Avatar Picture

Your profile picture can reflect your mood, and in IMVU, you can change your profile picture as much as you like. You can take a picture of your IMVU 3D avatar or even upload a picture of yourself. This picture will be displayed on your homepage and on your avatar card in IMVU Classic and on the website. There are three ways on how to do this:

Using IMVU Classic Software's Camera Feature
By Attaching a Picture File from Your Computer

- On the IMVU Classic Website

- On IMVU Desktop and on the IMVU Website

By Attaching a Picture from your Mobile Device

Replacing Your Avatar Picture By Attaching a Picture File from Your Computer

If you would like to upload a picture from your computer, follow the steps below:

On the IMVU Classic Website

STEP 1: Go to www.imvu.com, and then login to your account. If you are having problems logging in, click here.

STEP 2: Click Account located at the top of your IMVU page.

STEP 3: Next to Upload Avatar Image, click on the Choose File button to find the image file on your computer.

STEP 4: Locate the image that you want to use, and then click Open. Remember that your profile picture must conform to our Terms of Service and be suitable for our entire community since these pictures are not restricted by age.

STEP 5: Click Update Profile.

Click here and wait for the page to refresh and you will see your fancy new avatar picture!

On IMVU Desktop and on the IMVU Website

STEP 1: Go to IMVU Website, or open IMVU Desktop then login to your account. If you are having problems logging in, click here.

STEP 2: At the upper right corner, click on your profile picture icon and select Edit Profile.

STEP 3: Click on Change Profile Image, locate the image that you want to use, and select Open. Remember that your profile picture must conform to our Terms of Service and be suitable for our entire community since these pictures are not restricted by age.

STEP 4: Click Save.

Replacing Your Avatar Picture By Attaching a Picture File from Your Mobile Device (iOS and Android)

STEP 1: Log in to your account on IMVU Mobile. At the upper right corner of the screen, tap on the Profile Icon, and select Edit.

STEP 2: Click Change Profile Icon.

STEP 3: Click on either “Take Photo” or “Choose Existing”. Locate the image that you want to use. Remember that your profile picture must conform to our Terms of Service and be suitable for our entire community since these pictures are not restricted by age.
