There are several reasons why your account might have been disabled, placed on hold, or appear inaccessible. Some of the most common reasons include:
- You may have accidentally deleted your account.
- You might have forgotten your password.
- Your account could have been flagged for suspicious or unauthorized activity, such as:
- Alleged fraud of unauthorized purchases
- Soliciting or sharing passwords
- Receiving or gifting stolen credits
- Violating IMVU’s Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
In some cases, accounts are also placed on a temporary hold while we investigate unusual activity to help keep your account safe.
What Happens When Your Account is Disabled?
This usually occurs when an account violates our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or shows signs of suspicious activity.
If your account was suspended or disabled, we’ll send an email to the address associated with your account explaining the reason. You will also see a message with details about the disablement when you try to log in. This message will include:
- Whether your account is temporarily suspended or permanently disabled
- The reason for the suspension or disablement
- If applicable, when your account will be reinstated and access restored (for temporary suspensions only)
How to Appeal a Suspended or Disabled Account
If you believe your account was suspended or disabled by mistake, you can submit a ticket to file an appeal. Our support team will review your case and follow up with more information.
