A Developer Token is a special IMVU currency available exclusively to Creators. Developer Tokens cannot be traded or transferred as a standard currency or used to purchase products, but they can be used to pay for certain fees and Creator services.
How Am I Earning Developer Tokens?
Selling products: Creators may earn Credits or Developer Tokens each time one of their catalog items is sold. When a user purchases an item with Credits, you receive a payout based on your desired profit. When a user purchases an item with Promotional Credits, you earn one Developer Token per sales transaction, regardless of your product's usual markup.
Participating in Peer Review: You can earn Developer Tokens by participating in Peer Review. To do so, select Developer Tokens as your preferred Peer Review reward under Creator Preferences in your Account Settings.
Participating in the Earn Money program: If you are enrolled in our Earn Money program and have chosen to earn money from your sales, purchases made with Promotional Credits will still be converted to Developer Tokens. Promotional Credits cannot be used to cash out. Learn more about the Earn Money program.
Ways to Use Your Developer Tokens
Developer Tokens can be used for several Creator-related fees and services.
Product submissions: Use Developer Tokens instead of Credits to pay for product submission fees. The cost reduction applies to the submission fee only, not the derivation fee.
Creator Ads: Use Developer Tokens to purchase Creator Ads, either on their own or in combination with Credits. Creator Ads are available in mobile-only and cross-platform packages. See the current package options below.
Shoutouts: Use Developer Tokens to reduce or eliminate the cost of shoutouts. Each Developer Token reduces the transaction price by 10 Credits. Developer Tokens are also automatically applied to reduce the price of shoutouts you purchase.
IMVU Swag and charitable contributions: Developer Tokens may also be used to purchase IMVU Swag or contribute to IMVU-supported charities. These options are generally available only during special events. IMVU will share announcements when these opportunities become available.
Gifting to other Creators: Developer Tokens may be gifted to other Creators when this option is available.
Creator Ads: Available Packages
Creator Ads allow you to promote your products through impressions on IMVU's mobile and desktop platforms. You can choose from the following packages:

Mobile Ad Package: Choose this option if you want to advertise exclusively on mobile.
Standard Cross-Platform: Choose this option if you want your ad to reach users on both desktop and mobile platforms.
Big Impact Cross-Platform: Choose this option for a larger cross-platform advertising campaign with more included impressions.

How Are Developer Tokens Different From Creator Coins?
Developer Tokens and Creator Coins are two distinct currencies designed for Creators, each with different uses.
Developer Tokens can be earned through eligible product sales and Peer Review participation. They can be used for product submission fees, Creator Ads, and other eligible Creator services.
Creator Coins are a separate currency that can be purchased and used exclusively for the Creator Product Promotion feature.
