What are Developer Tokens and how am I earning them?

A Developer Token is a special IMVU currency produced only for Creators. They cannot be traded, transferred, or used to buy products. However they can be used to pay for specific fees.

How am I earning Developer Tokens?

Creators may earn Credits or Developer Tokens each time one of their items in the catalog is sold. When a user pays for an item with Credits, you will receive a payout equal to your desired profit. If the user pays with Promotional Credits, then you will earn one Developer Token per sales transaction. This is regardless of your normal markup for the product.
Earning Developer Tokens by participating in Peer Review. Simply set your preferred Peer Review reward to Developer Token under Creator Preferences on your Account Settings.
If you are enrolled in our Earn Money program and are set to earn money for your sales, purchases made via Promotional Credits will still be converted to Dev Tokens. Promotional Credits cannot be used to cash out. You can learn more about the Earn Money program by clicking on this link.

Ways to use your Developer Tokens:

You can use Developer Tokens instead of Credits to pay for product submissions. Note that the cost reduction will only apply to the submission fee, and not to the derivation fee.
Developer Tokens can also be used to pay for Creator Ads, either on their own or in combination with Credits. You can get up to 100,000 impressions for your ads in the IMVU Mobile Feed for 100,000 Developer Tokens, or 1.5 million impressions in the desktop platforms for 50,000 Developer Tokens. Developer Tokens can also be used to reduce or eliminate the cost of shoutouts. Each Dev Token will reduce the price of the transaction by 10 credits. Dev Tokens are also automatically used to reduce the price of shoutouts that you buy.
You may also use Dev Tokens to purchase IMVU Swag, or contribute to charities driven by IMVU! Your Dev Tokens may also be gifted to other Creators. These options are usually only available during special events, and messages will be sent out when you can avail of them.
