Sometimes, we encounter people who may talk to us in an inappropriate manner. There are two instances where you can report abusive language in IMVU Classic.

Reporting Abusive Chat

If another IMVU user says anything obscene abusive or hateful during a chat, you can report abuse during chat by performing the steps below:

STEP 1: Click on the abusive user's avatar, and then click on the flag icon.

You can also do this by pointing your mouse over the avatar's username in the chat window and then click the flag icon.

STEP 2: Click the Flag button to confirm and a chat history from the conversation will be sent to the IMVU customer service for review.

STEP 3: If the conversation is found to be in violation of the Terms of Service, a public message will be sent to the offending user's homepage and appropriate action will be taken further.

Escalating Other Safety Matters

We manually review most abuse reports within 24 hours. If you have any problems reporting a Chat, please contact us through our Help Center. Please note that we are unable to take action in most cases with copied and pasted chats. If at all possible, please report bad behavior using the first option above. Below is one way on how to report abusive behavior that you may have experienced while using IMVU:

STEP 1: Go to the Help Center to submit a case.

STEP 2: Select Safety in the Case Category drop-down list.

STEP 3: In the Safety Topics drop-down list, select the topic that is suitable to your situation.

STEP 4: Fill out the fields provided including the description of your report then click Save. Please provide all necessary details about the incident in order for the IMVU customer service to provide a solution in the quickest time possible.
