How to Hide Your Current Room Location

We value your privacy at each and every instance. In IMVU, you have the option to hide your current room location if you prefer to do so. For instructions on how to do this, follow the easy steps below.

• On IMVU Classic (IMVU Client)
• On IMVU Website/Desktop
• On IMVU Mobile

Hiding Your Current Location in IMVU Classic (IMVU Client)

STEP 1: Access IMVU Classic. Get the official and latest version here.

STEP 2: Click on the Settings option.

STEP 3: Under General, uncheck Show my room location.

On IMVU Desktop and through the IMVU Website

STEP 1: Launch your IMVU Desktop and login to your account. Alternatively, you may also go to https://www.imvu.com/next/home/.

STEP 2: At the upper-rightmost corner, click on your profile icon and select Edit Profile.

STEP 3: Under Room Settings, toggle the “Show Current Room” button off, then Save.

The Show Current Room setting lets you choose where other people can see the chat room you're currently in.

• Everywhere – Your current room is visible both on your Profile Card and in the Join Your Friends section on the Chat landing page.
• Profile Only – Your current room is only shown on your Profile Card. Anyone who views your profile can see which room you're in.
• Recommendations Only – Your current room is only shown in the Join Your Friends section on the Chat landing page. Only your friends can see your current room there.

On IMVU Mobile

STEP 1: Launch your IMVU Mobile app and login to your account.

STEP 2: Tap on your profile icon.

STEP 3: At the upper-right corner, tap on “Edit”.

STEP 4: Scroll down to the Privacy section, and toggle the "Room Location" button off.
