If someone goes around saying that they are "IMVU Staff", don't fall for it! There are several ways you can verify that someone is truly an IMVU Staff member:
A quick and easy way to determine if someone is a Staff member is by hitting the BLOCK button. Check out this article for steps on how to block a user on the IMVU Website. You can also block users on IMVU Mobile. Real Staff avatars cannot be blocked, regardless of the platform! Here are other, more detailed ways to determine real Staff.
Determining an IMVU Staff Member on the IMVU Classic Website and in IMVU Classic
First, if you get a Homepage message from someone claiming to be Staff, check for the IMVU STAFF watermark in the background of the message and the Staff shield.
If you're visiting an IMVU Staff member's Homepage, you will also find the Staff shield under the avatar picture like the one below:
One of the safest ways to be certain someone is an IMVU Staff, is to look at their avatar card. Just click on their avatar picture on their message or Homepage and a screen similar to the one below will pop-up:
As you can see, there is an IMVU Staff shield and watermark on this screen. Much of this functionality is mimicked in IMVU Classic. For example, click on an avatar in a chat and then select View Profile to see their avatar card similar to the image below:

In Mobile, the Staff badge looks different and can be seen on the upper-right corner when you tap on the avatar's Profile Look:

Posing as an IMVU Staff member is an offense we take very seriously. If you encounter someone claiming to be an IMVU Staff who is not, please report the offending content by clicking the appropriate Safety link on the page or item. Remember, an IMVU Staff will never go into chat rooms to ask for your account or payment details, and they will never ask for your password!
