Why is the Tiers System being updated?

The program has not been touched since it was originally built ten years ago, and the Creator Community has been asking for a change for some time. Our goal with the new Tiers System is to help Creators of all levels see benefits based on their activity.

What does that mean for me as a Creator?

The new system is designed to support our engaged Creator Community by measuring activity. The more you do, the better your result will be. We’ve added more ways for Creators to earn points, making the system beneficial for all experience levels.

Why did you change the system from 7 Tiers to 10 Tiers?

We want to be more transparent about how Creators are progressing through the Tiers, and dividing them into smaller sections allows us to do this.

Are benefits the same as the previous Tiers System?

Yes, the benefits are the same, but spread out among 10 Tiers instead of 7.

How often are Tiers Calculated and for what time period?

Your total points are tallied once per month to determine your Tier for that month. The level is recalculated every calendar month.

What are Tiers Categories?

All Creators earn Tier points based on 2 activity Categories, Creation and Sales. For more details about Creation and Sales metrics, take a look at your Creator Dashboard under “My Tier” https://www.imvu.com/creators/creator_dashboard.php.

Where is my Creator Dashboard?

To find your Creator Dashboard, go to https://www.imvu.com/creators/creator_dashboard.php and click on the "My Tier" tab.

What is the Product section in my Dashboard?

Each Tier level has a minimum requirement of sellable products in your catalog. The Product section shows you if you’ve met those minimum requirements. It displays how many sellable products you’ve submitted to your catalog in the last 60 days, and how many sellable products are in your catalog. You can find out more about minimum requirements of these metrics by clicking this link. It also shows you the maximum Tier level they qualify for.

Why are there Minimum Requirements for Sellable Items?

A Creator’s shop is more likely to receive sales when it showcases high quality items added on a regular basis. The minimum requirements encourage Creators to follow this best practice. You can find out more about minimum requirements by clicking this link.

How are Points measured?

Activities can earn you sets of points, from 5 to 45, based on your activity in the last 30 days. The Sales category and Bonus Points earn sets of 5, 10, 20, or 30 points. Your Creation category earns sets of 5, 10, 20, 30, or 45 points.

What are Maximum Points?

  • Maximum points are the most points you can earn for a Category or Activity.

  • Categories - the maximum points available for the Creation category and Bonus Points is 45. The maximum for the Sales category is 70.

  • Activities - activities can earn between 10 and 45 points depending on the activity.

  • As you progress, your product creation and sales for the months will count more towards your Tier level.

Why are there Maximum Points?

Maximum points have been put in place to encourage Creators to stay active in the program, which leads to additional success. When you submit high quality work to your catalog, you are more likely to see your sales increase as well.

What is the Minimum Tier to be a Pro Creator?

Pro Creators are Tiers 7 and above.

Why aren’t product ratings included in Tiers anymore?

Since the current review system is not readily available to the majority of users, we’re excluding them from Tiers calculations. Once a new rating system is in place we will add this metric into the Tiers again.

Have Credit Transfer Limits changed in the new Tiers System?

The limits for each Tier are not drastically different. Tier 0 and 10 Creators have the same limits as Tier 0 and Tier 7 in the old system. Tiers 1 through 9 Creators have the same limits as the old system, but they are spread evenly among 9 levels instead of 6.

Is Peer Review slowing because of the Tiers System Update?

No, the Tiers System update is not directly impacting Peer Review.

What we are seeing is a general increase in product submissions, most likely due to the Stay In Place policies for COVID19. The upward trend has been happening since March of this year and continues to impact us. At the same time, we are continuing to remove Peer Reviewers who are not paying attention and voting incorrectly too much.

As always, engaging in Peer Review is the most effective way to speed up the Peer Review process.

Is the IMVU Catalog being negatively impacted by the new Tiers System?

We see no new negative trends in the IMVU Catalog directly caused by the new Tiers system.

Using IMVU Studio gets you more Tier Points!

We are now offering extra Creation Tier value for creating and submitting products in IMVU Studio. IMVU Classic (Client) Products have not lost any Tier value, we are simply giving additional value to IMVU Studio products. The extra Creation Tier value starts June 1, 2021. Tier levels will show the extra value starting in July 2021.
