This is an important update for Grandfathered Creators.
In the announcement below we stated that starting July 1, 2023, all Earn Money Creators, including Grandfathered Creators, will be required to have either Platinum or Diamond VIP in order to be in the Earn Money Program and receive cash payouts.
(This requirement does not affect Grandfathered Creators who are subscribed to legacy VIP (from before Tiered VIP launched).
We realize this is a huge change for many Grandfathered Creators and have been closely following feedback regarding this new policy.
Based on your valuable input, we have come up with a solution that should make it easier for affected Creators to transition.
Details are as follows:
LINKED ACCOUNTS FOR GRANDFATHERED CREATORS
Starting July 1, 2023, Creators will be able to link three Grandfathered Creator accounts together, with only one VIP subscription.
Creators will choose one Grandfathered account for their VIP subscription, and two additional Grandfathered accounts that will not need VIP.
If a Creator already pays for Platinum or Diamond VIP on a non-Grandfathered account, they can apply it to two of their Grandfathered accounts.
All three linked accounts will be eligible for the Earn Money Program and payouts.
Once the accounts are linked, new earnings from these accounts will be combined into one MASA balance. Earnings from before the accounts are linked will not be combined.
Grandfathered accounts that are grouped with a VIP account will not need to apply for the Earn Money Program as long as they have already been approved to participate in the Earn Money Program prior.
Starting August 2023, earnings from the linked accounts can be set up to funnel into the VIP account.
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO LINK GRANDFATHERED ACCOUNTS
Here’s how to link a Platinum or Diamond VIP Grandfathered account with two additional accounts.
Make sure one of your Creator accounts has Platinum or Diamond VIP
Submit a help ticket to the Earn Money Program, requesting linked accounts. List an account that has VIP, and two Grandfathered accounts that do not have VIP.
If any of the linked accounts is not in the Earn Money Program, those account(s) will need to join to earn money and request a payout. All accounts will be able to apply to the Earn Money Program without a VIP subscription. However, you will not be able to earn money or request a payout until the account has a qualified VIP subscription or is linked to a Grandfathered account with a qualified VIP subscription.
Once the team receives your ticket (and your Earn Money application(s) if applicable), they will:
Check to make sure the accounts are owned by you
Confirm your Earn Money Program application has been accepted.
As soon as your accounts are approved, the team will link them together, so all three can be in the Earn Money Program with only one VIP subscription
ADDITIONAL BENEFIT - JULY ONLY
Between July 1 and July 30, Earn Money accounts with less than $50 can convert their balances into Credits. To receive Credits, send a help ticket to the Earn Money team.
Attention Creators - Starting July 1 Earn Money Payouts will require VIP
This is an important notice for Creators who are not signed up for VIP but still receive cash payouts in the Earn Money Program.
Starting July 1, 2023, all Earn Money Creators will be required to have either Platinum or Diamond VIP in order to receive cash payouts.
This does not include legacy Creators who signed up for VIP before the Tiered VIP system launched. They already have the equivalent of Platinum VIP and do not need to take any action.
CLARIFICATION:
Added 5/18/23: By "legacy Creators" we mean Grandfathered Creators. Grandfathered Creators without VIP will still be able to create, submit to their shop and earn Credits.
When this new requirement is introduced, Grandfathered Creators without VIP will still be able to create, submit to their shop and earn Credits.
Added 5/23/23 - You will not be able to earn cash or receive payouts unless you purchase Platinum or Diamond VIP. Once you join VIP you can earn cash and receive payouts. You will not lose existing cash balances. They will simply not be available without VIP.

Avatar since 01/29/2007. Been creating here for a long time. Before the current owner even owned it. What you are doing to the very people who made you money (THE CREATORS) is not very intelligent. If anything you should be sending them all more money for hanging in and helping IMVU get rich for so long. Grandfathered creators are what made IMVU. Not the owners of it. Also. you do not answer any questions on submitting merging accounts and make it easy and clickable. And when I tried and did what IMVU said then I got a case closed email with no explanation at all? Oh yea. You don't have to explain. I forgot. Will IMVU really make more money if "absolutely everyone" just throws in the towel and quits creating? Or will they fall down? We will never know because I am sure that everyone will pay the price and comply instead of protesting as an entire creator group and not signing up for the nonsense. However. Eventually they may come to see the true value of the old grandfathered creators maybe. But money is all that matters right?. Not the people who made them.

I am very sorry how this is effecting you. IMVU has always been built on creators but its because of that they know they can strong hold creators. IMVU is not concern about losing users. Because long as there always enough creators buying in there dream of having potential income here. There always be people willing to create. Even when old creators leave or others leave and find something better. There will always be a group of creators that will stay put. Because of this IMVU does not have to change how they treat creators. THEY will never change how they do business. because this is WORKING FOR THEM and only for them and that is the their goal is to make money off you with out having to pay you much or nothing. If you leave you will just be benefiting yourself to have opportunity to make real money somewhere else. But you leaving will not effect their changes because there will be more then 1000 that will stubbornly stay for their own very validate reasons. So do what is best for you if this not working for you then follow your gut. I followed my gut six years ago. So I will never buy VIP because I don't have too nor do I depend on my sales on IMVU no more. I kind of just been sitting on the sideline watching this place sink slowly. I am so happy that they have no power over me to make me feel obligated to buy this to get my money. Research other worlds that you can take your talent too and find you place that values your work. you do not have to put up with this. good luck to you.

Their customer service team is most likely backed up with all the creators with exception of maybe small hand full that are trying to link up. Give it sometime They will get to your request.

I'd appreciate it if they could keep payments in mind. I made a request to get paid on the 21st, 3 weeks after buying this reoccurring VIP thing, and I didn't get paid until yesterday.

It wasn't made clear in the original message, but staff confirmed a while ago that you will need VIP to earn as well as cash out. Unfortunately this thread is such a mess that you'd never find that post. I have email notifications for it turned on so that I don't miss any staff posts.

Confusion? This wasn't in the original post.... These changes are coming completely out of left field, Nowhere has it said anything about having to have a VIP subscription to have earnings default to earn money... It's only been stated that you can't withdraw without a VIP subscription - Until now.
These changes are going to make more people leave. SO many people have left IMVU over the past few years. Why does IMVU keep making changes that harm both themselves as a company, and their customer base?
I can't even make the required 50 a month to cash out not to mention 10 a month. I won't be able to cash out from here on out if this is the case. IMVU takes a huge portion of my earnings as is, both from submission fees AND when someone buys my products - WHY do they need more? I understand it's a business; But making it harder for creators is doing nothing but making it harder for IMVU to make their income.
IMVU is built upon creators. Without us, IMVU is nothing. After this change i wager a VERY large portion of creators will leave. Absolutely absurd.

for five of my accts and set up linking of the others- I got a response to the ticket but it was a canned response like
Hmm… this one is a tricky one! We have changed the status of your IMVU Case xxxxx to a Work in Progress since it’s going to take us a little more time than usual to provide a resolution. You can refer to the case to see a more detailed update from the team.
what does that mean? I never got another email so I have no cluE if they linked my accts!
