[Archived - akin] What is happening with the shop lately? Tags aren't shown/used at all

Hello,

for more than a month, shop on classic is getting worse and worse when its up to tag names.

As an example, If I search my username on shop on all categories, my products aren't showing at all. Only old products from other users that aren't having my username or close to it. This is not a particular issue only with my account, its almost the same to all creators, and this issue is affecting sales. We don't create for promo credits (something that is very used frequently) which I know this brings cash into house, but not on the creators house. I don't wanna offend anyone, but this is an issue that isn't looking like to be fixed.

I know you must be focusing on imvu web, desktop and mobile, but users actually buy from classic too.

It is broken yes... but not only that part... my last GA dresses never showed in a catalog search. Sales I got are only from people who come directly to my catalog to see new releases.

 

We really need a solution for the catalog because this is affecting all of us!

Hello Jeff, I sent you a private message on the IMVU but I am also writing here to let you know that the IMVU catalog is broken - again. The situation is the same as before you guys deployed the latest fix - keywords are not working, searching for the creators name will not show the best match (name that you wrote in the search) but kicks out some old products, and newly created products not showing in the catalog at all.

 

I have to add that things broke after IMVU changed showcase creators, maybe someone should investigate/check it so we don't run into the same problem every month.

 

Please update us as soon as you can because we all depend on the catalog and our products not showing is absolutely devastating. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your help with this issue, @Jeff. And thank you to everyone who commented/posted about the issue in the first place to help boost it, and @Gaf210 and @PikaGirl for testing it prior to roll out. I really appreciate that conversations on this Forum can bring about actual change. I know that when we submit help tickets about issues like this it tends to go in frustrating circles. So thank you again so so much to Jeff and the Engineers for taking the time to listen to us, and resolving the issue!

Hey, again! Thanks to the help from our testers, @gaf210​, @Cheo​, and @PikaGirl​, we've determined that our fix to the search algorithm was an effective fix. As a result, we've rolled out the change to all users, so you should all see an improvement. Let us know if you have any other feedback. Thanks for your patience.

Hi, everyone. I just wanted to stop in and let y'all know that we're still working on this. There *is* a minor problem with the search algorithm that our engineers are actively researching. We're testing a fix with a couple of Creators who have posted in this thread. If I haven't reached out to you and you would like to test this, let me know. Thanks for your patience.

Hi @Cheo​ ! I have the same problem for almost 3 months, if you fill a ticket it wont help you, I already did it multiple times and I got the same reply " IMVU shop is dynamic and there is no problem" or "is just a bug/glitch", what IMVU support don't want to understand is that our sales dropped so badly, we spend our time for nothing, my new products are not even in the catalog, it's very frustrating... @RigsK​ said that she passed the information on to the team dealing with this problem, so the only thing we can do is to wait and hope that this problem will be solved... at least this year...

This is a really serious issue as it's deeply affecting our sales, and even our ability to research new meshes/ideas to create from. It doesn't help me if I search the shop for "angel wings" and I get 30+ pages of 10 year old results using outdated meshes. When I search my own username in the shop I don't even appear on the first 10 pages of results. In the past I was the first result for pages and pages. Do I need to file a help ticket to get help with this issue? What is my next course of action? Is IMVU looking into this issue? It's like I don't exist in the shop anymore. My sales have totally dried up and I can't help but believe it's related to this shop bug.
