[Archived - akin] What is happening with the shop lately? Tags aren't shown/used at all

heyas akin!! yes thats right, thats what i mean about losing reach in presence in the catalog.

Really this about having ancient products shown in first pages is a problem, not only for currently active creators, but also for clients cause this is impacting in their shopping experience negatively.

Not sure if it's related but I do notice it's incredibly difficult to find new, relevant products when searching for keywords. It's odd cause I feel like this is an off and on issue. It makes shopping very difficult.

As in her case, from what I see here, many have this issue. Hiding the product will make shop invisible for good, since only those products are visible due to the unresolved glitch.

In a conclusion, search on tags/name isn't showing the proper result and hiding old products doesn't help bring upfront the good ones cause they are not showing, and by the end of the day, you get a huge sale drop, and not today, not yesterday, but for 2 months each day.

And also, this search field should work like any other search field and let's take my shop for example, I type "Akin" on all categories, I show up 3 times in 10 pages and the rest are result from an creator that hasn't been active for 9 years, and has products for ages.

This was an example for the tag problem, if someone searched for pride, what is currently now promoted on June, I have no results, and well be it, maybe user would want to search for my shop and see product and what to see? And old inactive user, that doesn't even match on search "Akin". Each search finds fristly what you type (akin), then it should go on the filter (best match - my best selled product) and after it should go above Akin....akin0001 or what ever. Not to bring first akin0001 and after page 100 I will show up.

@Maio​ lol hun, make sure to hide any products that dont represent you any more... i had to do this, despite this might represent a lower presence in the catalog, it will stop affecting your brand in the long run. I had to do this with many products i had when it was ok to have huge hands on our avatars XD

Well is worst than that, because if u will look for a keyword that you used in your latest products you will see that the product its not even on the catalog, so how people can find your products if IMVU keep them on hide. I mean if someone visit your shop, they can see the product, but if they are searching for the keyword, your products dont exist, only the old ones.

They didnt noticed because they've done fixing all bugs and now they are focusing on removing all "inactive" people, because this affects a lot sales/keywords/toxicity from the community.

Dont take this seriously, I was ironic. Ofc they saw, but they dont care because at the end of the day they still have sales, people buy old products made in 2010 too, for a chance to be on Discover, so they have no reason to hurry fixing it.

I just realised I posted a screenshot with an AP tagged product (it's just a bed, but it's rated AP so I wanted to crop it out and repost), so I went to delete the post and I got the message "You cannot delete another user's Discussion post or reply. Please flag it if you believe it is inappropriate." So that's great.

Is IMVU following up on this? I've noticed a massive drop in sales that started around the time the shop bug started happening to me. It used to be a sporadic issue but now it's constantly returning me outdated results. If I search my own name in classic or on web the "best match" is a product made years ago that garnered a handful of sales, certainly not a "best match". My actual "top sellers" aren't even 15-30+ pages back. If I search the term "Cow", which USED to return me a bunch of popular products from big name creators, now it shows me pages and pages of very old, loose fitting results. If I can't find my own products in the shop, no wonder no one else can. This is throttling me, and it's compounded by the fact that 30-60% of my sales are promo credits nowadays. Has IMVU not noticed ANY drop in sales since this bug happened? If I can't shop for an outfit, I'd imagine other users are struggling too.

It would be great if you could also make a post saying that you are working on a new project and that our sales will be the same as our products visible in the shop, 0. When this thing was reported the first time it was just a " glitch" is now no longer glitch it's a long term project. Cool.

And what should we creators do in this case? To stop creating? I uploaded over 100 products in a month, including meshes, should I stop creating until the team fixes what they broke? Over 100 products and 0 search results 0. We almost work for free because of the wave of promo credits, and now you have assured that we are really wasting our time for free. Shame on you IMVU for disrespecting the people who keep this platform alive. That's why most creators leave, because you have zero respect for their time and work.
