There are some instances when a user finds inappropriate content that he or she wishes to report. There are three places where you can report abuse or inappropriate content in IMVU. These are:
- Reporting a Message on Your Homepage
- Reporting Another User's Avatar Picture
- Reporting Abusive 3D Chat
Reporting a Message on Your Homepage
If a message contains obscene, abusive, or hateful content or if you believe the message contains malicious code designed to adversely affect your homepage, proceed with the steps below:
STEP 1: Click on the Report abuse link at the top of the message.
STEP 2: Wait for a confirmation page to appear. This will send an email to you and IMVU, Inc. that includes the content of the message.
STEP 3: If the content is found to be in violation, a public message will be sent to the offending user's homepage and will be given appropriate action.
Reporting Another User's Avatar Picture
If a user's avatar picture contains obscene, abusive, or hateful content, proceed with the steps below:
STEP 1: Click on the Report profile picture link at the top of the user's home page.
STEP 2: Wait for a confirmation page to appear. This will send an email to you and IMVU, Inc. that includes the avatar picture.
STEP 3: If the content is found to be in violation, the said abusive picture will be removed and a public message will be sent to the offending user's homepage.
Reporting Abusive 3D Chat
If another IMVU user says anything obscene, abusive, or hateful during a 3D chat, perform the steps below:
STEP 1: Click on the abusive user's avatar, and then click the safety link.
STEP 2: Click the Report button and a chat history from the conversation will be sent to the IMVU customer service for review.
STEP 3: If the conversation is found to be in violation of the Terms of Service, a public message will be sent to the offending user's homepage and appropriate action will be taken further.
