To verify your age, you need to purchase an Age Verification Token. Once you have your Age Verification Token, you can use the automated system to verify your age. The process can vary by location, but can generally be completed within minutes.
Note: The correct age is not required if you are looking to get an Access Pass or Age Verification -- as long as you are 18 years old or older, you can get both upgrades. To learn more, check out this article: http://im.vu/help668.

Purchasing an Age Verification Token
Navigate to the Credits & Upgrades screen.
Tap on Age Verification to purchase an Age Verification Token.

Completing the Age Verification Process
Once your purchase is complete, you will have the option to proceed with verification immediately or at a later time.

Option 1: Verify Now
Tap Get Verified to begin the verification process.
You will be redirected to Yoti, our trusted verification service, to complete the process.
Option 2: Verify Later
If you choose to verify later, you can start the process anytime by following these steps:
Go to Settings.
Tap on Upgrades & Subscriptions.
Under Upgrades, tap Get Verified to begin the verification process.

Once verified, your account will reflect your verified status, granting you access to age-restricted features. If you encounter any issues, please contact IMVU Support for assistance.
Verification Tips:
Use a mobile device for the verification process.
Take a photo in an area with bright, even light and no shadows.
Do not use an ID that is damaged or expired.
Ensure your fingers are not over the edges of your ID.
When taking a selfie, a solid background works best.
What if my Age Verification Failed?
If our Age Verification partner is still not able to verify your age for any reason after 5 attempts, please contact our Customer Support team.
I used the wrong age when I signed up. Can I correct it?
Yes. If you are an adult user, you may directly update your date of birth and correct your age on your Account Settings page. Please note that this feature is exclusively for adult users, and you can only set your age to 18 or older. However, if you used a minor age and are actually an adult, we will need to have a copy of any official document (e.g., Government issued ID, Driver's License, Passport, etc.) that verifies your real age. Send us a ticket requesting for the age change, and once we request for the supporting documents you may send them to us by attaching them to a Help Ticket. Please note that deliberately misrepresenting your age from Minor to Adult or Adult to Minor will be a major offense and punishable under IMVU's Terms of Service.
