This is an important update for Grandfathered Creators.
In the announcement below we stated that starting July 1, 2023, all Earn Money Creators, including Grandfathered Creators, will be required to have either Platinum or Diamond VIP in order to be in the Earn Money Program and receive cash payouts.
(This requirement does not affect Grandfathered Creators who are subscribed to legacy VIP (from before Tiered VIP launched).
We realize this is a huge change for many Grandfathered Creators and have been closely following feedback regarding this new policy.
Based on your valuable input, we have come up with a solution that should make it easier for affected Creators to transition.
Details are as follows:
LINKED ACCOUNTS FOR GRANDFATHERED CREATORS
Starting July 1, 2023, Creators will be able to link three Grandfathered Creator accounts together, with only one VIP subscription.
Creators will choose one Grandfathered account for their VIP subscription, and two additional Grandfathered accounts that will not need VIP.
If a Creator already pays for Platinum or Diamond VIP on a non-Grandfathered account, they can apply it to two of their Grandfathered accounts.
All three linked accounts will be eligible for the Earn Money Program and payouts.
Once the accounts are linked, new earnings from these accounts will be combined into one MASA balance. Earnings from before the accounts are linked will not be combined.
Grandfathered accounts that are grouped with a VIP account will not need to apply for the Earn Money Program as long as they have already been approved to participate in the Earn Money Program prior.
Starting August 2023, earnings from the linked accounts can be set up to funnel into the VIP account.
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO LINK GRANDFATHERED ACCOUNTS
Here’s how to link a Platinum or Diamond VIP Grandfathered account with two additional accounts.
Make sure one of your Creator accounts has Platinum or Diamond VIP
Submit a help ticket to the Earn Money Program, requesting linked accounts. List an account that has VIP, and two Grandfathered accounts that do not have VIP.
If any of the linked accounts is not in the Earn Money Program, those account(s) will need to join to earn money and request a payout. All accounts will be able to apply to the Earn Money Program without a VIP subscription. However, you will not be able to earn money or request a payout until the account has a qualified VIP subscription or is linked to a Grandfathered account with a qualified VIP subscription.
Once the team receives your ticket (and your Earn Money application(s) if applicable), they will:
Check to make sure the accounts are owned by you
Confirm your Earn Money Program application has been accepted.
As soon as your accounts are approved, the team will link them together, so all three can be in the Earn Money Program with only one VIP subscription
ADDITIONAL BENEFIT - JULY ONLY
Between July 1 and July 30, Earn Money accounts with less than $50 can convert their balances into Credits. To receive Credits, send a help ticket to the Earn Money team.
Attention Creators - Starting July 1 Earn Money Payouts will require VIP

Added 5/23/23 - You will not be able to earn cash or receive payouts unless you purchase Platinum or Diamond VIP. Once you join VIP you can earn cash and receive payouts. You will not lose existing cash balances. They will simply not be available without VIP.

What I find hilarious is people calling IMVU the "Greedy Company", while using this change as their reason to say good bye to IMVU...it is simply hypocrite thinking in this way. And this is my most neat form to state this.

I am invested here, and will stand my ground. While understanding I need patience in order to see things grow for the better and the improvement of the whole. They do not need to leave. Unless they crave money payouts only, and choose not to get a VIP platinum or - diamond. We where given a freedom, with inclusion of IMVU being able to undo this. They only changed one thing for us, which is we now need a VIP in order to extract our income in money from IMVU. The rest of our honorabel status and ability to freely upload meshes and create, we keep. For those using IMVU as an income, yes it will have negative effects. Times change...situations and markets change...the world is changing,...this is nothing new.

Just reacting, cause I like it. To some/most I agree, but this is not the end,...it is rather more a new fresh beginning to me. We all have our perspective. And I do not feel that IMVU failed me either, but everyone and every company makes errors, IMVU is not excluded from that practice.
We just need to improve on lot's of things. And I do not intend nor vision, giving up on IMVU. We will improve, simple as that. I have very good hopes, which are based on facts. Surely we know IMVU has issues, I am 100% sure they are tackling them, with every positive intend towards creators.
I hold patience, since the very first day I entered, but I also understand I am not the only user/member. And IMVU as company, also has their own priorities. This is just the way it is. In this case,...patience is key. I urge creators like you, which we need, to simply have some more patience. This is not yet the time...to decide to leave. Yet when you must do so, I wish you the very best. I enjoy your items a lot!

This is going to casuse a lot of veteran creators to close their shops and leave IMVU. If IMVU is really so desperate for money get rid of promo credits and just have all users buy credits.

Well! I guess this is the end of all of us here, years ago when all these poor decisions started to come up I knew it will end up like this, all this anxiety! I have a back pain now from sitting on pc for hours trying to build up my brand, now I can’t get my health back, and after all of this struggle you did this to us?not one decision that was made was for the good of creators, NOT ONE! All just to push us away cause actually you do not need us, u need your little babies who come her get free credits and go shop till you drop, you stealing our work with your prédits plans!! And us creators loosing sales due to this! I think it was all planned up from the beginning, way to go imvu, no point asking who is behind all of this cause we all already know, who give you the right to give my hard work for free?! Who decided this all vip shitshow? You ruined my work I worked hard for for years, you ruined my joy doing what I love, you ruined our trust in you, god knows what you will come up with next. Imvu, u failed us all.

Wrong! You can always contact and mail staff. You are free to do so. I just put it here, since it came to a discussion here, which I like to conclude on positively for all involved. When going to the IMVU page where staff is presented you will see their avatarnames, and you are free to send them communications in line with our guidelines.

It’s frustrating to realize that this is one of the few instances where we seemingly have a direct connection to an IMVU staffer with the ability to relay our messages to higher ups. IMVU, your communication with us is abysmal.

What I wouldn’t mind IMVU doing, instead of charging people VIP to create, is making creating something you buy like an access pass. Just a one time charge and you can create/earn money or credits/and always have a shop visible. I agree with a lot of others here, there is NOTHING that appeals to me in any VIP tier. I also think with having the ability to create being a one time purchase, the catalogue would be a lot more diverse and appealing. Theoretically it might encourage more people to actually devote time and more money into their shops because it’s not a fleeting privilege if and when you have the money to just keep your shop open. I’m sure there’s flaws with my idea, but I’m throwing it out there anyway.

Its not as though they have kept any of their previous promises in the past, Whats to stop them from using our things anyway? and still reap the rewards

I hope RigsK, can translate and hand these wishes to internal meetings, in order to enable our network from deforming negatively. It is utmost important suggestions, WHICH I will not hand out again, by sending me to some silly feedback page. This concerns our safety and disables manipulations of our preferred network. So I urge you to start working on these immediately and I advise to have this all in place before the first quarter of 2024 ended. Good luck sir.
