This is an important update for Grandfathered Creators.
In the announcement below we stated that starting July 1, 2023, all Earn Money Creators, including Grandfathered Creators, will be required to have either Platinum or Diamond VIP in order to be in the Earn Money Program and receive cash payouts.
(This requirement does not affect Grandfathered Creators who are subscribed to legacy VIP (from before Tiered VIP launched).
We realize this is a huge change for many Grandfathered Creators and have been closely following feedback regarding this new policy.
Based on your valuable input, we have come up with a solution that should make it easier for affected Creators to transition.
Details are as follows:
LINKED ACCOUNTS FOR GRANDFATHERED CREATORS
Starting July 1, 2023, Creators will be able to link three Grandfathered Creator accounts together, with only one VIP subscription.
Creators will choose one Grandfathered account for their VIP subscription, and two additional Grandfathered accounts that will not need VIP.
If a Creator already pays for Platinum or Diamond VIP on a non-Grandfathered account, they can apply it to two of their Grandfathered accounts.
All three linked accounts will be eligible for the Earn Money Program and payouts.
Once the accounts are linked, new earnings from these accounts will be combined into one MASA balance. Earnings from before the accounts are linked will not be combined.
Grandfathered accounts that are grouped with a VIP account will not need to apply for the Earn Money Program as long as they have already been approved to participate in the Earn Money Program prior.
Starting August 2023, earnings from the linked accounts can be set up to funnel into the VIP account.
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO LINK GRANDFATHERED ACCOUNTS
Here’s how to link a Platinum or Diamond VIP Grandfathered account with two additional accounts.
Make sure one of your Creator accounts has Platinum or Diamond VIP
Submit a help ticket to the Earn Money Program, requesting linked accounts. List an account that has VIP, and two Grandfathered accounts that do not have VIP.
If any of the linked accounts is not in the Earn Money Program, those account(s) will need to join to earn money and request a payout. All accounts will be able to apply to the Earn Money Program without a VIP subscription. However, you will not be able to earn money or request a payout until the account has a qualified VIP subscription or is linked to a Grandfathered account with a qualified VIP subscription.
Once the team receives your ticket (and your Earn Money application(s) if applicable), they will:
Check to make sure the accounts are owned by you
Confirm your Earn Money Program application has been accepted.
As soon as your accounts are approved, the team will link them together, so all three can be in the Earn Money Program with only one VIP subscription
ADDITIONAL BENEFIT - JULY ONLY
Between July 1 and July 30, Earn Money accounts with less than $50 can convert their balances into Credits. To receive Credits, send a help ticket to the Earn Money team.
Attention Creators - Starting July 1 Earn Money Payouts will require VIP
This is an important notice for Creators who are not signed up for VIP but still receive cash payouts in the Earn Money Program.
Starting July 1, 2023, all Earn Money Creators will be required to have either Platinum or Diamond VIP in order to receive cash payouts.
This does not include legacy Creators who signed up for VIP before the Tiered VIP system launched. They already have the equivalent of Platinum VIP and do not need to take any action.
CLARIFICATION:
Added 5/18/23: By "legacy Creators" we mean Grandfathered Creators. Grandfathered Creators without VIP will still be able to create, submit to their shop and earn Credits.
When this new requirement is introduced, Grandfathered Creators without VIP will still be able to create, submit to their shop and earn Credits.
Added 5/23/23 - You will not be able to earn cash or receive payouts unless you purchase Platinum or Diamond VIP. Once you join VIP you can earn cash and receive payouts. You will not lose existing cash balances. They will simply not be available without VIP.

A full registration of each account must take place, when moving towards larger memberships. So when they want this new to design basic membership, they either register, or stay away.

Such basic members, must also not be allowed to receive credits from other users. So no sending around credits, to free riders. Also no ability to add in product reviews or anything other which they use now as manipulations of our system and our ways and methods that connect with the tier system, or enable to manipulate it.

To extend the free period, they will either need to have payed for a name change token, and a new to make membership "Basic" to be able to continue to use IMVU, with only the abilities of free riders. So with a maximally dressed out version for them on IMVU to use. So no extra abilities when only extending the duration period of three months with a new to design basic extend duration period - membership. The costs of such a membership should be sufficient to carry their load, while only consuming our free options. However the amount of credits they buy.

What you will have build up on cash on your account, will stay cash, it will not be automatically altered toward credits. Just for paying it out,...you will need to reach the minimum amount as well as hold VIP.

Yes. I am with you on that one for sure. Free riders must be stopped. I want them to be able to test IMVU and our features, for a maximum free of charge duration of 3 months. After which they obtain the choice to either join us, or leave us. And that they will not be allowed to create new accounts with the same email on the same device used to enter our network with. So we do not get free riders enduring their free rides. While having us pay, and them rant our network. And that each of them will receive a maximum amount of free credits, pre set. And will not be able to use community abilities and prized forms of entertainment, ment to end up in paying member's hands. After three months, they either pay, or stay away.

Taking comes with giving. It would be "preferable" turning this system into everyone's "preferred" one. Maybe us and IMVU management, can stick our heads together, coming up with the ultimate setup in which we can all find our function and enable it to become acceptable terms, that are market wide, equal and normalized. I would cheer, if we can think up ways, that suit us as well as IMVU. It seems they came to such, and looking at the recent method, it does function, but still has pains. These pains are under a magnifying glass right now. And I am sure when we give it good efforts and our open minds, that we can shape it, so it might suit us better. I urge to uphold equality doing so, so when this changes once more, I like it to change for all creators, and not just us. With this said, I actually already think, the setup is to the maximum ability IMVU can offer us right now. But they also should welcome ideas we can hand them, to improve. Good luck thinking along! I sure will as well.

They also need to give the full amounts for bundles, stop giving our products away for free, and stop giving out predits on credits sales, they need to make doing peer review an incentive to earn predits. If they want to be taken seriously as a working platform. I mean what is in it for us.

To my fellow creators I would like to say. Chin up guys, IMVU is more, than just a money maker. IMVU has connected us to the rest of the world, and is keeping our loyal title as well as possibility to create content in place. This is the last honorable difference between us gf and the other creators. These are an honorable status and free abilities. I do understand frustration, but we also must look at our fellow creators that are no gf's. And see that we are treated utmost fairly still.
Please...stick to IMVU, it came and comes with friends something money can't buy. The VIP abilities we gain, will ready us and sets us eventually when we can all use them, into a brighter future. It is up to us all individually, if we like to roam in that future. But I urge you all, be smart, be loyal to friends, and as for IMVU's sake. I trust the recent staff, and know for sure that they heard our cries and demonstrational messages.
We are a team, they needed this change, to proceed onward. Now...let's proceed!
