This is an important update for Grandfathered Creators.
In the announcement below we stated that starting July 1, 2023, all Earn Money Creators, including Grandfathered Creators, will be required to have either Platinum or Diamond VIP in order to be in the Earn Money Program and receive cash payouts.
(This requirement does not affect Grandfathered Creators who are subscribed to legacy VIP (from before Tiered VIP launched).
We realize this is a huge change for many Grandfathered Creators and have been closely following feedback regarding this new policy.
Based on your valuable input, we have come up with a solution that should make it easier for affected Creators to transition.
Details are as follows:
LINKED ACCOUNTS FOR GRANDFATHERED CREATORS
Starting July 1, 2023, Creators will be able to link three Grandfathered Creator accounts together, with only one VIP subscription.
Creators will choose one Grandfathered account for their VIP subscription, and two additional Grandfathered accounts that will not need VIP.
If a Creator already pays for Platinum or Diamond VIP on a non-Grandfathered account, they can apply it to two of their Grandfathered accounts.
All three linked accounts will be eligible for the Earn Money Program and payouts.
Once the accounts are linked, new earnings from these accounts will be combined into one MASA balance. Earnings from before the accounts are linked will not be combined.
Grandfathered accounts that are grouped with a VIP account will not need to apply for the Earn Money Program as long as they have already been approved to participate in the Earn Money Program prior.
Starting August 2023, earnings from the linked accounts can be set up to funnel into the VIP account.
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO LINK GRANDFATHERED ACCOUNTS
Here’s how to link a Platinum or Diamond VIP Grandfathered account with two additional accounts.
Make sure one of your Creator accounts has Platinum or Diamond VIP
Submit a help ticket to the Earn Money Program, requesting linked accounts. List an account that has VIP, and two Grandfathered accounts that do not have VIP.
If any of the linked accounts is not in the Earn Money Program, those account(s) will need to join to earn money and request a payout. All accounts will be able to apply to the Earn Money Program without a VIP subscription. However, you will not be able to earn money or request a payout until the account has a qualified VIP subscription or is linked to a Grandfathered account with a qualified VIP subscription.
Once the team receives your ticket (and your Earn Money application(s) if applicable), they will:
Check to make sure the accounts are owned by you
Confirm your Earn Money Program application has been accepted.
As soon as your accounts are approved, the team will link them together, so all three can be in the Earn Money Program with only one VIP subscription
ADDITIONAL BENEFIT - JULY ONLY
Between July 1 and July 30, Earn Money accounts with less than $50 can convert their balances into Credits. To receive Credits, send a help ticket to the Earn Money team.

This is an important notice for Creators who are not signed up for VIP but still receive cash payouts in the Earn Money Program.

Added 5/23/23 - You will not be able to earn cash or receive payouts unless you purchase Platinum or Diamond VIP. Once you join VIP you can earn cash and receive payouts. You will not lose existing cash balances. They will simply not be available without VIP.

I have a question @RigsK let's say I have 3 accounts (more actually), but am only mentioning the 3 you all agreed we can link. 2 of the 3 are grandfathered, BUT I want to keep the VIP on my main account (this one which is grandfathered and have been paying for since I started with IMVU over a decade ago), would the non-grandfather account still fall into the 3 accounts with creating privilege's since they are all linked?

^^ This! Also, for it not to be allowed to use promo credits on bundles, we get ONE dev token for a bundle that has TONS of items, so basically here, have my work for free. We already gift people to promote for us since taking photos in shop is no longer available, but it hurts even more when room decorators get hit with this, it throws them off the wall! am I right or am I right @Alyissapearl

You know what, on her half it sucks that she missed the cut off date, but it is even worse for people who were here and creating before the cut off date, yet somehow she requires VIP even though her account is older than some grandfather accounts on here, November 22, 2010 to be exact. I recall @ShannonMac answering in a forum saying he would look into and fix any issues if it's proven but as of now. We never heard back and her shop has been closed for months now, because she no longer can afford the VIP and is just doing crafts and selling them from her home porch.

You know why Gold is not an option? Because then EVERYONE would sign up for it and be able to create at $5, new creators. I would suggest they make a new Tier at a lower cost for grandfather accounts or an option to where if it is Gold, ONLY grandfather creators can create, not the new ones, those have to pay a higher plan. Unless they do the rework, I truly hope Gold doesn't become the new selling point for this, or again we will be screwed and the new users, win once again and the hell with the veterans, right? smh

hell no, nobody wants to pay anything! but they wont let us get away with it, so I would like to pay the minimum please ty! Vip doesnt help me anyways. I never used any features that vip offered, they re not that useful, I can live without them! It s not like it has features that help me create better....so why do I have to pay for diamond?? Let us pay for basic.

I'm fine with guest accounts but can we please stop giving away so many promo credits? At least give them real credits. I said it before either in this thread or the other, promo credits might as well be air. The dev tokens are practically useless as well. (for me anyway)

Personally I'm very uncomfortable with the fact that IMVU makesany creator accounts need VIP to create when creators are already dumping cash into making things as it is. I think IMVU is doing a MASSIVE disservice to it's own catalogue by closing shops of creators who aren't currently VIP or grandfathered. I don't feel like grandfathered accounts are any more deserving of special privileges then newer ones. One friend of mine just barely missed the cut off date before she started creating and she can't afford to keep her shop open most of the time. I think IMVU are just money hungry overlords at this point.
