We would like to address the valid concerns that have been raised by our community regarding the implementation of IMVU's Minimum Coverage Guidelines (MCG). We highly appreciate your feedback and want to assure you that your voices are being heard. Your input is crucial in helping us create a more inclusive and transparent environment for both creators and users.
Clarification on MCG Implementation
We understand that some users are experiencing confusion about how to implement the MCG. Specifically, there are questions about the acceptability of using an MCG opacity map (mcg) wider than the red area. We are actively working on providing more detailed guidelines and examples to clarify this aspect.
Identifying Manipulated MCG/Body
To address concerns about identifying manipulated MCG or body shapes, we are exploring ways to improve our review and flagging processes. Our goal is to make the identification of non-compliant content more accurate and transparent.
Sample Compliant Bodies
We hear your request for sample bodies that conform to the MCG rules, especially on newer mesh bodies. We are actively working on providing these examples to ensure that creators have clear guidance.
Public Understanding and Peer Review
We acknowledge the need for clearer communication during peer reviews. We are committed to providing examples of compliant bodies and exploring standardized mcg skin coverage based on body sizes to enhance clarity and understanding during the review process.
Inconsistent Enforcement
We are aware of concerns about inconsistent enforcement of MCG guidelines. We are actively working to improve our processes to ensure fair and consistent enforcement across all products.
Personal Conflict in Flagging
We take your concerns about flagging seriously and will investigate any instances of unfair flagging. We are working on creating a more transparent and impartial flagging system.
Derived Products and Ratings
We are aware of the concerns surrounding derived products and how they are rated. We will explore ways to ensure that ratings are applied fairly and consistently.
Improved Communication and Collaboration
Finally, we want to emphasize our commitment to better communication and collaboration with the creator community. We value your input and will actively seek your feedback to improve our guidelines and enforcement processes.
We want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these concerns. Our aim is to create an environment where everyone can enjoy IMVU while adhering to guidelines that ensure a positive and safe experience for all.
Please continue to share your thoughts and suggestions with us, as they are invaluable in shaping the future of IMVU. Together, we can make IMVU a better place for all members of our community.
Update:We have updated the MCG section of the Creator Education Center with some additional details and clarification. An anchor has been made for easy access to the updated section. Please note that we'll continue to update this page as the ongoing internal/external conversation regarding MCG continues.
Of course it was what you were told, and I could just imagine the perplexed crumpled up look on your face when you were reading that Shenanigans

@LestatDeLioncourt My re rates were defiantly not to skirt and were fully covered by the top mesh. one example I had the PINK MCG starting from way above the boob line going all the way down to just above the ankles in a long pink gown. There was consistent clipping in this mesh in the waist line and legs and I wanted to make that clipping less visible for my customers by providing a MCG of the same color as the dress. This happens a great deal with the legs going through long dresses as we all know. So the intent was never to skirt to make anything even look nude. But yet I was re rated not just on this product but a few due to the color alone. I would really love to know what is going through their heads. It makes no viable sense.

@CowBae Black seems to just be fine however I did get nailed for a dark brown on my alt account and it was a very dark brown. So now I also avoid brown tones all together as well. We have needed a clear color profile of (not approved IMVU Skin Tone colors for MCG) We have been asking and waiting for Years now..

@LestatDeLioncourt One easy, simple way for IMVU to fix and improve these issues is for IMVU to actually implement our ideas/wants/needs and stand firm on them. Don't back down to what the flippant, not respectable kids want. Instead back the long time creators/devs for once and let us show you how we can make IMVU a better place that will attract MORE actual paying customers.

@LestatDeLioncourt I'm glad your so optimistic even though you've been here since day one? But in the years I've been here, the few (and I mean like 2) things I've seen that are positive or actually help and do not screw ppl do not outweigh all the many ways that imvu has taken it upon themselves to screw us over. Is it a business? Yes. But it appears that they have NOT learned that you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, sadly.

@LestatDeLioncourt I 100% agree. IMVU took the actual meaning of pro out of the equation. It used to mean something. Now it is only used by a status symbol for the new "creators" so they can charge 2,000 - 5,000 credits for ONE item. By the way...what is up with that???? I see those types of regular items on beggars wish lists and when I go to that creators shop, the credits are astronomical.

LOL @AfroVibes Sweetie, u seriously need to go and learn the definition of words before you actually use them. A rumor definition is "A piece of unverified information of uncertain origin usually spread by word of mouth." I clearly stated the truth as I directly quoted you. That is not a rumor. That's called truth. Can't get any more non rumor than that.

Our conversations about things like MCG and or Peer Review, etc. are in fact helping to build a better tomorrow. Many will say no but at least we have a Voice and at the least it is Read.
Just because our ideas are not implemented doesn't mean we weren't heard (with good Staff onboard). It is MOST Important to give New Thought, New Ideas, Improved Ideas, etc.
Just saying this is wrong or that is wrong doesn't always lead to a solution. What would fix it?

I do miss the struggle of taking months or even years to make PRO. This is when it meant something. It is hard work to make a good foundation in a catalog. Back in the day, it took me almost 2 years to gain Pro as a new mesher.
Now, any new creator who buys credits to submit can be Pro in no time. :/

@Parcel When MCG Shrink Meshers make so many of these mistakes, shouldn't they be perm-banned from IMVU? We have seen such/similar in other meshers who are gone-gone.
I think the threat of perm-banning would discourage the thought of skirting the MCG.
