We would like to address the valid concerns that have been raised by our community regarding the implementation of IMVU's Minimum Coverage Guidelines (MCG). We highly appreciate your feedback and want to assure you that your voices are being heard. Your input is crucial in helping us create a more inclusive and transparent environment for both creators and users.
Clarification on MCG Implementation
We understand that some users are experiencing confusion about how to implement the MCG. Specifically, there are questions about the acceptability of using an MCG opacity map (mcg) wider than the red area. We are actively working on providing more detailed guidelines and examples to clarify this aspect.
Identifying Manipulated MCG/Body
To address concerns about identifying manipulated MCG or body shapes, we are exploring ways to improve our review and flagging processes. Our goal is to make the identification of non-compliant content more accurate and transparent.
Sample Compliant Bodies
We hear your request for sample bodies that conform to the MCG rules, especially on newer mesh bodies. We are actively working on providing these examples to ensure that creators have clear guidance.
Public Understanding and Peer Review
We acknowledge the need for clearer communication during peer reviews. We are committed to providing examples of compliant bodies and exploring standardized mcg skin coverage based on body sizes to enhance clarity and understanding during the review process.
Inconsistent Enforcement
We are aware of concerns about inconsistent enforcement of MCG guidelines. We are actively working to improve our processes to ensure fair and consistent enforcement across all products.
Personal Conflict in Flagging
We take your concerns about flagging seriously and will investigate any instances of unfair flagging. We are working on creating a more transparent and impartial flagging system.
Derived Products and Ratings
We are aware of the concerns surrounding derived products and how they are rated. We will explore ways to ensure that ratings are applied fairly and consistently.
Improved Communication and Collaboration
Finally, we want to emphasize our commitment to better communication and collaboration with the creator community. We value your input and will actively seek your feedback to improve our guidelines and enforcement processes.
We want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these concerns. Our aim is to create an environment where everyone can enjoy IMVU while adhering to guidelines that ensure a positive and safe experience for all.
Please continue to share your thoughts and suggestions with us, as they are invaluable in shaping the future of IMVU. Together, we can make IMVU a better place for all members of our community.
Update:We have updated the MCG section of the Creator Education Center with some additional details and clarification. An anchor has been made for easy access to the updated section. Please note that we'll continue to update this page as the ongoing internal/external conversation regarding MCG continues.
Exactly~ it's really gotten inconvenient to simply talk lol
Hopefully they'll chill out with this or like at least fix it so it doesn't block normal content.

I have never had a problem getting a refund when an GA rated product Became re rated to AP as it is not in my pervue to know why or when it was only that I recieved a message about the product and it had been removed but was still in my items. So I could use it in an AP rated room. But anymore I make all my AP items for my own use not for sale to anyone, anymore.

I was under the understanding if you made them look like undies by putting some sort of line around them then that would be ok, as long as they are not made to look like part of the skin.

@DJHarley
Imvu is Privileged to have us!!!!
Our Talent
Our Time (Many of us over a decade)
We are loyal customers
We are loyal creators
We bring money to their platform
We help others
We advertise for them
We stay and fight after our pay is reduced to a raging dumpster fire
We encourage new users to stay, play and create
We inform others of changes
We educate others and encourage them to read T.O.S and the Creator Agreement
We have done, and some still do their Peer review
We actively pay for credits, vip, AP, room slots, Ect
We have been greeters for them
We create beautiful rooms for all account holders to use
Ect ect ect
But we are the privileged ones? I can tell you after thousands of dollars of surgery on my arms and hands from drawing textures and pumping endless products into my catalog. Its IMU's complete Privilege to still have me here fighting for a company I love and have devoted 15 years to.

As a consumer, it is very frustrating when a rating is changed on an item, be it deco for a room or a wearable for an avatar; and it is removed from my inventory...
While I appreciate credits spent are returned, in some cases I would prefer the option to keep the re-rated item!
I spend hours shopping to find specific pieces and being an AP member, I should have the choice! IMVU needs to implement a system that allows the consumer the option to either keep an item that has had a rating change, or have item removed and credits refunded!
Furthermore.... I have 1000s of items in my overall inventory! Y'all have NO idea how infuriating it is to receive a system message telling me an item has been removed from my inventory due to incorrect rating and all I have is a name to reference item by... the way creators name items often doesn't tell me what it is: clothing, hair, accessory, chair, lamp, pose... and so on! Having a system that allows me the choice to either keep item or have it removed, along with better identifying information, and even the image would certainly make this issue better received!

@DJHarley You know what I use to do with those jacked up MCG violation products back in the day.... I use to send Varsha a list of their PID's I found in peer and she would hand load them and re rate them.. Then I stopped doing peer well because I was sick of getting bad marks for wrongly rating items when I knew I was correctly rating them.. And of course IMVU doesnt provide me a paycheck to do their job.. So there is that.. Oh The good Ole days when Varsha was around.

Yep @LoveAzumi Here's a link that tells u all about them. Unfortunately they are not against any IMVU rules sadly. But yep as @QBL stated the ppl who do ZCD's are not respected in the creator/derive world because they don't do any of the work. They just take someone elses item who worked really hard on it and increase the credits and put it into their catty and then they wonder why they don't get respect.
Skin tones use on the MCG texture is still against T.O.S on any clothing product. Safe to use colors are Black, Grey, white sometimes I use blue. I love to make pink products and was burned pretty good because I like to make the MCG match the color of the dress or clothing product. Pink being considered a skin or flesh tone I got nailed to the IMVU cross .. I had to do a ton of remediating to my pink products. It took me weeks.. @Saturi We really need a color profile chart for the colors IMVU has deemed (Not Allowed) Skin or flesh tones. We have been asking for this for years now and it has not been provided. This is a fairly simple ask as well and it would be a great tool for all of us creators to be able to use.

@LoveAzumi What You are seeing is called (ZDC's) Zero Derive Change.. IMVU has allowed ZDC's since day one. We call these creators Copy Cats and Coat Tailers some will even highjack the creators product ICON and use that as well. Some creators let icon thieves skate by mostly because the DMCA process is daunting. Others like me let them pile up and send in DMCA's once a month, other creators just flat allow it to happen and in fact encourage the theft of their Icons. Creators have literally been screaming for years that they want the ZDC's stopped because it does nothing but clog up the catalog with duplicate items. But IMVU has never listened and now we have the messy catalog that we have today. I encourage everyone to follow the derive train back on the items they not only buy but also derive from.

I do use human skin for my Kini icon previews. Yet I still get flagged when I shouldn’t. Here are some of the icons. For females I use my skin color, Brown then for males I use Caucasian skin color! And they never match any skin color because of outside existing designs.

@LestatDeLioncourt Whereas it takes more thought and consideration to make constructive input, it only takes one time to burn me (and many many more) and that is what IMVU did to us and I've felt that burn several times after that first time. Do I have a bad attitude against IMVU? (Burn me once shame on you. Burn me twice shame on me). Yep, however what most don't understand is why. For 13 years, I've seen IMVU promise us creators/devs things, and then either take back what was promised, or burn us in the process. I've sat back and read all the stories and seen the proof of what happened from many of the original creators (many of which are no longer here because they were tired of getting burned over and over again & not getting respected) so yes, I'm skeptical. What is it going to take for IMVU to finally respect us creators/devs, stop burning us, and give us the credit we actually deserve? What is it going to take for IMVU to actually listen to us and put what we'd like into place? I actually have yet to see that happen in these past 13 years, so I will remain skeptical and continue to watch the newer creators get burned and then realize that I had warned them this was going to happen. If they'd actually look/realize/read, I am not the only creator/dev replying in this topic that has lived through/dealt with IMVU's deception through out the years. That in itself should tell them I'm not just being a witch because I'm that way, because I'm not. I'm actually just really sick n tired of the b.s. that IMVU slings out on an almost daily basis knowing full well that they are probably just telling ppl what they want to hear and then time always proves me right sadly. I don't want IMVU to deceive the newer creators/devs, but that is exactly what unfortunately happens. That being said, I hope enough see this statement before IMVU takes it down.
